And the s2000 stock isnt really any slower even in a straight line than an EVO

the S2000 and EVO slalom is roughly the same
the skidpads are roughly the same
the S2000 weighs less and can actually corner slightly faster, and being that it is RWD, it has the cornering advantage, while the EVO has the corner exiting advantage and is more tossable and forgiving.

1/4 for an EVO VIII - 13.1
1/4 for an EVO IX - 12.9
1/4 for an 04-06 S2000 - 13.8

now although the s2000 is slower in the 1/4 mile, the s2000 is NOT much slower on the highway or from a 50+ mph roll.

the EVO is by far more friendly to mods than the S2000, but isnt exactly that hard to turbo an S2000 either.

the s2000 is a 2 door, and more sporty looking, but horribly impractical!
the evo is a 4 door, more aggressive looking, but not as sexy looking

they are both good cars

s2000 $32k rounded prices
evo rs $29k
evo ix $32k
evo mr $37k

the s2000 is competitive with the evo in EVERY way, except for practicality and 1/4 mile

rally and autocross are each cars speciality

overall, the Evo gives more bang for the dollar and modded blows away the s2000
and CAN compete in autox fairly well
while the S2K cant rally at all

the EVO is better all year round

stock for stock, the S2K is funner to drive, unless its wet out

just wanted to correct you on one thing... EVO IX RS stock does 12.8.. Well at least thats what mine ran last friday

And that has apparently offended some of you such that you are now trying to start pissing contests on the S2000 board?

Read that aloud and listen to how pathetic it sounds before you make another post. Good god people, who gives a flying f*ck what someone else thinks about your car so long as you are happy with it, can afford it, and it works for you?

If I mentioned that my favorite drink was mt Dew, you probably wouldn't sit and argue with me for hours on end how Coke is better. But when it comes to cars, the pointless posts don't stop. I bet some of you wouldn't put up as much of a fight if I insulted your momma

This is the sort of thing that makes me embarassed to own an Evo. Give it a rest already. Surely you have more important things to do.

Really? As somebody already stated, it wasn't simply a factual based comparison, it was a bias, opinionated article laden with insults galore and what takes the cake is that it actually is posted on the home page, as if it's fact. Let me get this straight, don't S2000 owners have anything better to do than create BS like that to try to improve their pride of their torqueless ride. All drivers being equal the EVO is the better performance car period, and it has been PROVEN countless numbers of times.

Also it's not one guys opinion, obviously atleast your S2000 community leaders have such faith in the article to post it on the home page. Read through all the many different car forums, and find me one article in which a community posted some BS (on the home page) about their cars being better. Don't come on here and try to make EVO owners sound like the bad guys, when you guys clearly started sh*t. So with that said, bring it mutherf*ckers, stand by your words, you claim your cars our superior to our tuned Corollas, then man up and stand by your words, don't b*tch out when people start to call you guys out on it. This can be set up, we already have a EVO vs. STI/STI/WRX event scheduled, we can make room for the S2000 too, especially since it also was clearly stated in the article (posted on the home page) that this goes out to the STi/STI too.

Even the Evo VII puts the smack down on the S2000. Pick your track, the 'Ring or Hockenheim. Evo IX would make this all the uglier.

Last thing, cuz I hate how some posters are trying to flip the script and make us EVO owners look like the bad guys, like the one's over reacting. All things being fair, we should post up a long *** unfactual, bias, and insulted laden article claiming why the EVO is better the S2000 for all to see as soon as they log onto our website. But wait a minute we wouldn't do that, because as someone stated, we love our cars, you love yours, so who really gives a flying f*ck about the S2000 as far as we are concerned, but obviously the S2000 community does care. So as I said before, this can be done, this can be fun, you've been called out, our you guys gonna stand by your words? What do you have to lose, your car is superior right?

Well upon further investigation, it seems like a lot of S2000 owners do not believe the article is appropriate for the home page, and do not share the same belief as the author of the article. Still I see no problem with settling beefs on the track, after all, isn't that what all this about, the sport of things. I wish I had more clout, so I could set such events up myself. Pitty.

i wish the s2000 was more tall people friendly. being 6' 3" and all legs it's not all that comfortable sitting in one. the new miata was really bad about that too, i felt like i was in a sardine can when i autocrossed one at zoom zoom live.

but man, the s2000 is such a sexy car. this weekend up through today have been the first truly gorgeous days since winter here in maryland, and all the s2000 owners were out cruising around with the top down... sure, the evo is faster, probably handles better, yada yada yada, but for cruising and picking up chicks i don't think you can beat the s2000.

Yea, cars are more than just specs, hp and numbers. Driving cars should be emotional and about driving pleasure. Its why the Miata is so popular even though its not that fast. It was one of the best selling sports car ever. Its why the S2000 won the Kakeyoro contest two years in a row in the newest Best Motoring video over the EVO/STI and won best car of the year twice in Top Gear annual survey. Its why EVO/STI has a huge loyal almost religious following because they can be tuned to beat Ferraris/Lambos. It has the best bang for buck performance. Every car has a soul and its the reason why people chose certain cars over others. A debate like this is pretty pointless. Its like asking a buddhist to believe in Jesus. Its like Palestine and Israel, Pakistan and India. Its never gonna end.

an s2ki member told me to post this.......

I just wanted to thank the majority of the Evo community for being so civil about this whole S2000 is better than the Evo thing. I was very disappointed in S2ki.com for putting "the article" on their front page. I think it was in very poor taste and exhibited a very juvenile comparison between the two cars. Obviously each of the cars have their own strenghts and weaknesses. Owners of certain car models are often stereotyped as being stuck-up *******s (SRT-4 and Mustang come to mind) and I hate to think the S2000 would fall into that category. I have great respect for the Evo and have an ever growing respect for their owners. I hope you'll accept my appologies on behalf of the immature few at S2ki that support this article.

Fastest S went a 10.6. And like it was said above, there is a very small percentage of S2000 owners who feel that way about the article.

k just have to put my .02 in. I owned an S2K before my 03 evo and obviously I saw a difference, yes I raced my AP1 on the track, yes I test drove the Evo prior to purchase. Yes I was left with my jaw dropped in amazement and the Evo made the choice all the easier. I never looked back, we can do this anyday. If the S2k owners in Dallas want a shootout then I'm sure all the NTEC guys would love to set this up.

seems like a pipe dream, and even then what exactly would it ever prove?
