Unhappy I'm so confused

Hi everyone,
I've been on this site for a while,
I've been reading information about the EVO and man do I love the EVO. The look of it is so sexy while at the same time it looks like its about to kill. At night the HID's look so nice and that hood is just WOW.......
Crap I'm getting carried away.

Anyway back to the topic, I am a member at the z forums, the sti forums and the corvette forums and supra forums (notice i dont own any of these cars ).

here is the problem, I dont know what car is the better choice.
I dont like the new Vette's, the old ones are nice but the downside is the gas and its a coupe so more insurance, plus traction problems since Rear wheel drive. I like the olders ones because they look bigger and have a tougher look to them. The downside to the older vette's is that their is miles on it.

So next in line is the STi. I have heard from the owners that its much harder to mod that then the EVO. With the same mods the EVO produces more hp. And I HATE the new look for the STI. The older model was so nice, very sexy....I actually thought it was completing very nicely with the EVO and then they chagned the shape so now its all EVO for looks. Well the problem with the older STI's is that its again got miles and you know people drive it hard.

So now it comes to Supra's. My what power and look and style. Expensive yes even though used with hella miles but the POWER!! And that look is so hot, BUT 100k mile supra costs 30 grand!! That's just INSANE!! That is just too many miles so now that's gone from the picture.

Left are the 350z and the EVO. What to pick. Z is coupe and EVO is 4 door. Z is cheaper but EVO is hotter. The Z has less traction then the EVO but again cheaper. I also noticed that stock Z's are doing 13.9 (With a GOD of a driver and 14.5 with an average driver and all stock of course)
How much does the EVO do stock, are there enough mods out there (CALI legal to make it alot faster?) I just love the look of the EVO, I cant mention it enough but I dont know what to get. The Z has so dam many mods out there its insane!! with a s/c they get over 400whp and its CALI legal. I just want to know if the EVO's are there too.

I'm sorry if this is repeated but I need your guys input here.
Who knows better about EVO's then well you guys?

Help me out here.

Thanks

Its up to you. THis is a evo forum, so most will say get an evo.

But these are all different cars you listed. THe evo and sti are about the closest cars in he list.

The vette is cool, but the old vettes are ugly to me.
THe Z is if you want to ride in style, I dont know how mod friendly it is.
The Supra is a sweet car, but you are not finding one under 40k miles. ANd thats to many miles if this is gonig to be your daily driver.
The evo and sti are about the same car, sti takes more money to mod, and the evo takes less, its more about what look you like.

i know what you mean, its all about what i like
honestly i am in love, head over heels and all that good stuff about the evo. It is an incredible looking car and more then enough power to back it up

the only and i mean only problem there is, is that my GF thinks that it looks too tiny. i dont know how or why but she thinks that i'm too tall for it. i'm 6'2" but its a 4 door so i dont see a problem plus it is small then my *cough* accord that i drive now but it looks so dam hot though

Seems like you put too much value on what OTHER people think, instead of what you actually want. You already said that you really like the EVO. You answered your own question. Time to grow up, make a decision and live with it. Move on and enjoy.

^ hey i know i know but my other main concern is this:

i own a accord now. after this i hate honda's. the reason? no matter how much you spend of the dam thing, it gets no power. i have spend over 3 grand in the engine performance only and it sucks ***!! the dam tranny keeps dieing like hell.

because of this i am scared to own any car without making sure and tripple making sure also that the car that i want is not a "honda"

yes i did research the accord alot and everyone had no problems but after modding it just a bit, BAM!! problem after problem.

I have wasted so much money on this car, so much time and for nothing at all. so this is why i'm so scared of buying a car that will do the same thing.

i know it sounds like i'm a nagging blank but trust me, after all that the honda say put me through, i cant stress enough how much i hate this POS

it drinks as much gas as a EVO but lacks 100whp!!
broke piece of crap!!

Sorry venting my frustration.

you're in Cali so I'll go w/ a car you don't have to mod. You don't need awd since you don't have snow. If you don't have kids then you can get a coupe/ 2 seater: s2K, lotus elise, porsche cayman, m3,s4..I included these luxury coupes since you considered the 06 corvette w/c is almost in the same price range

Its a honda, what do you expect? Its not going to be pushing 350whp with $3000 of mods.

I dont know how much money you have since I skimmed through the thread, but I believe if you want the best bang for the buck go Evo, but its all on preferred choice of the buyer. Dont let other people tell you that it sucks, its ugly, or looks like a ricer.

350Z is a hard car to extract power from because of it being N/A. An S/C 350z does sound good for emissions, everyone does have one so thats not that rare. Evo is "kinda" rare, havent seen too many of them in cali, but if you're worried about emissions when you go to test the car for w.e just put it back to stock.

Good luck, whatever choice you make will be good since all those cars are drop dead sexy when seen on the street with a good set of rims

vette=gas/high miles
sti=ugly new design
supra=there are less than 10 rear windshields(for the supra) in the us right now... need I say more. BTW they cost over $700!
350z=not even close to mod friendly
evo=well... no cruise control, but who needs cruise control with 27 lbs of boost???

Good luck and keep us posted on what you choose.

To address some of your questions:

- New Evo IX with a good driver will dip into high 12's (12.9 or so)
- New Evo IX with basic mods (still CA legit) will put down about 270-300whp on 91 octane (depends on the dyno) ... that power level will net you low 12s

If you're worried about modding already, then I'd say stick with a used Vette. I very much like the look of the previous gen Vette. No need to mod it, just get a nice one and enjoy.

If you plan on racing your car (and 1/4 mile doesn't count), then stick with the Evo. Nothing on your list will keep up with it on a road course.

IMO there is no such thing as cheap and reliable modding. You either accept the fact that it will cost you $$$ beyond the actual cost of parts, or you shouldn't be modding. Also remember that the Evo is a high maintenance car...

^ thanks
yeah i'm probably going to pick from only the Z or the EVO since the Supra has too many miles and the vette, even though i love them just doesnt come up to the EVO in looks

i guess what it comes down to is test driving and more researching for this plus the right price (nope i aint rich)
i will mod it of course cuz i mean who cant? so price wise that's not a problem, the problem is how friendly is the EVO when it comes to mods

and speaking of price, does anyone know of anyone that owns a delearship in cali that can give a good deal?

oh p.s. you dont have to answer this but i would like to know.
from the 3 versions of the EVO, which do you guys own and why?

Thanks and again i'm sorry about this thread, didnt mean to upset you guys but i'd rather have too much info then none at all
