Should I upgrade Intercooler????
Ok, so the other day I ended up sliding into a ditch.... I know, I'm a dumbass, don't say it.... anyways, the bottom of the inter cooler got pushed up and squished a bit, plus the piping connecting on either side of the intercooler were also squeezed (think of when you squeeze an empty soda can). So i'm not completly sure that the intercooler NEEDS to be replaced YET.... But my question is that if it does need to be replaced, should I go with an aftermarket upgrade???? If so, is there one you would recommend? Is it really going to be any more beneficial then the stock EVO 9's intercooler? Please let me know. Thanks for your time!!!
Your from La Crosse, WI, what day did you slide in the ditch, last week friday maybe?? Wasn't there a big snow warning or something?? i am in wisconsin also. if you plan on upgrading more in the future then go for the upgrade, unless you keep it stock don't bother.
How much is the stock IC at the stealership?
Money wise, If you have no other option but replacing it, it could be interesting to upgrade it, but don't expect any whp gains. I'm not fond of aftermarket intercoolers with mild mods...

I do not know if you can get a better deal at your local dealership but thats what I am being told is list price. I mean if you are going to go that route you may want to look into our standard fmic .Nick
Buschur Racing Inc.
You would be a fool to not upgrade if you have to replace it anyway... The argument is moot as to whether you need to at you level of modification. Fact is, you and your insurance company would be spending less money for a "better" product. People who will argue against it usually have no personal knowledge in the matter anyway. However, if you have to replace it regardless, why in the hell would you not spend less money than on OE parts for components you may have to upgrade later.
Granted, in your neck of the woods, heat is not as much an issue as it is down here in Texas on 100 plus degree days... but for the money...

IIRC the STOCK IC from
is $720ish
a new intercooler is definaltly what i would do if i was in your shoes, it's cheaper, you would really have to be a dumba$$ to not do it... cheaper-better vs expensive-worse . Get the idea? Also you will get a little jump in performance out of the new one!!!!

Definately upgrade to something along the lines of Nisei, Buschur, AMS. You get a better product that will INCREASE power as well as probably being cheaper than a stock replacement. Pretty much a no brainer
