Should I let Weapon-r measure my Evo?

Well, a couple of my regulars (customers) from where i worked, asked me if they could borrow the car for a day to do measurments for intakes etc. They said in return, when they have the finish products, they'll give me an intake for free. I'm thinkin' its no problem because we are really coo with them. Any opinions?

depends on what exactly they will be doing with the car.

i say more than an intake should be expected in return. future test option, free parts, good discounts etc etc

I think a free intake in return for letting them measure for it is good enough. If they don't use yours, they'll just find someone else. If they want to measure for more stuff, you should get more free stuff or some really good discounts. You could ask for more if they want to do the test-fitting of prototype parts.

i dont think it is a bad deal for a free intake. i mean would you miss it that much for one day and youll be saving a couple hundred $ on an intake. also, i dont have an evo but you would be helping the aftermarket for evo owners.

build a relationship with them and watch it grow. That is, as long as they don't test drive it without you there.

Free parts are good .. especially if it doesn't cost you anything .. but be careful about offering your car for unlimited testing .. you want it to be your car.

I for one would be very leary about them having your new car. I would be hesitant to let the new car out of my sight... Remember Ferris Bueller's Day Off when they parked the Ferrari...? I am not saying that these guys would do anything other that what they are saying but you never know...

Yeah, I'm funny about letting my friends drive my car while i'm there, but a free intake is damn motivation

I would do it. Since you are already friends with them, you can only build a better relationship with the company. That, in turn, might get you more free parts or better discounts.

i can see myself doing that with my Lancer, but if i had an EVO...i'd be lookin into RalliArt and such for performance upgrades. Nothin against Weapon-R, but i wouldnt rock weapon-r intake on my Lancer...just my .02

Nothing against weapon-r either, but i can't see my evo with weapon-r things, like Ozevo said, i'll probably be lookin' for ralliART etc... but then again i could see get the free stuff and discount and sell it for $$ to help my car payment......

I would never put a Weapon-R intake on any car of mine. Especially a turbo.
Also based on feedback of several top performance shops, an intake would likely decrease performance rather than increase.
Even if they paid me for R&D time, I would still have to think real hard about it.

I am still trying to figure out what is behind the driver side lower vent and how I can make that an intake box. So far I havent seen any nice places to put the filter, though removing the battery from the stock location seems to be the first thing I need to do. It is just plain in the way.
