Can EVO 9 drivers vouch for this?

1st gear is truly ridiculous. However its not the only car that has a fast first gear pull. There are a variety of turbocharged awd japanese vehicles to choose from. 1st and 2 generation DSM (not quite japanese but close!), subaru sti, wrx, 3000 GT Vr4, Galant Vr4, etc. If it is the straight line acceleration your after, theres no need to throw down $30,000.00 +

MarK.
I don't think violent defines straight line pull but around the corners it's definetly violent or a slingshot effect. I was very unimpressed of the evo's straight line power but you have to realize that is not what the car is made for. Now when you make a turn and mash the gas right when you enter the corner that's what I call violent. It almost feels like it defys the law of physics when nothing breaks loose and you have nearly 300hp violently whipping you around a corner. Hey don't put Recaro's in it for nothing. 278hp, inline four motor, awd, and over 3100lbs of weight is not going to be violent from a roll or even after the initial 60ft.
a well executed launch feels great. that's all i can say. i ride a GSXR1000 motorcycle that's ridiculous fast, but it can't be launched like the evo. the evo has very impressive acceleration to say the least.
