Wingless really is the Sleeper Mode

BUT, if it's an aftermarket low wing spoiler, e.g., from Spoiler Depot, allegedly they may NOT match up.
Tonight, my Spoiler Depot spoiler arrives and I will find out if the holes lines up, and let you guys know ASAP.
If they do not line up, I hope to modifiy the spoiler, not my decklid, to make them line up. That may entail filling the mounting holes in the spoiler pillars and re-drilling them elsewhere.

I've actually gotten more attention since taking my wing off. Everyone new what an EVO was and didnt bother trying to race me because they knew they would lose. Now with my wing off I get some ricer or slow domestic tring to get me to race daily. I guess they think Im a regular lancer
the Lancer wing that was on the 02-03 OZ rally was actually an option on the Evo VII GT-A, you can get high wing or low wing, depending on what you liked , so it's still technically an Evo wing that filtered down to its lesser brothers aka base *** Lancers, just dont remeber if it had 3 or 2 legs

They will do that because they see the IC and think it's an add on. The next step for stealth is to black it out. Just don't use any paint with ceramic coating or apply paint too thick because it will cut your thermal conduction.

Yeah; what he said. I wish they still offered it as an option, but I like having the CF wing in my garage, ready for replacement on a moment's notice. For the moment, I think I'll, er, hang it in my office.

OK, I received and installed the Spoiler Depot Lancer spoiler, in Phoenix Red (paint code P23) tonight. The paint is very close to a perfect match. Not quite, but close enough. I know it's almost impossible to get a perfect match.
Upon my request, they removed the center post and filled its holes before painting it. Looks good.
The brake light wires were on the wrong side. I drilled a hole in the other spoiler leg and snaked the wires through. No big deal; took maybe half an hour.
The mounting holes lined up ... perfectly. With my wife and me holding the spoiler in place, I was able to mount it in under five minutes.
There are ABS and fiberglass spoilers offered by Spoiler Depot. Since I am missing the center pillar, I specified the more rigid material, i.e., fiberglass. Anyone wanting to follow my lead should call them and do the same.
I like the way it looks, but right now it's in my garage on a rainy night. Tomorrow, outside, I'll get a better sense of it. I'll post pix soon, and maybe a longer review based upon this one in a new thread.

one of my buddies is looking for a Evo wing for his car but it has to have the carbon fiber he's willing to paint it later but would really like to get one that already matches his paint it's the Dark Charcoal Grey that comes on most MR's
ha, my friend who I hadn't seen for months, saw me pull into a parking lot with my evo(with a wing) he goes "you got a new car"... me"yes"... what is it "it's an evo"... he then looks inside and says "wow, big step down from your BMW" i just laughed and said "this car is better than my 328 in everyway" him"yeah right"

I used to have a trick '98 Prelude. I had headers, exhaust, intake, mild cam. No wing, no external mods. I drove it really hard all over, but rarley got it over 100. Maybe 3 times in the 2 years I had it. I'm mainly interested in autocross (65mph, max) not top speed runs, so I think the wing is just a weight on the back of the car.
So, I like the wingless look, and appreciate it's functionality. I want a White RS IX. (Since I'm putting my wife through dental school. I drive a bone-stock '02 Civic LX coupe. She graduates next year, though, so it's not too much longer until I can buy a new vehicle.)
*OT: I did manage to get that Prelude up to 147 (Fastest I've gone in a car) and the steering got LIGHT (Like, scary-light. I still had 500rpm to go until redline in 5th but I backed off.) That was the only time in 10 years of driving I've ever wished I had a wing. I just think they're so ricer unless you track your car.
