same thing happen to me a while ago when i was upgrading my hoses with regular clamps to t bolt clamps...the black smoke is from the lack of vacuum and the huge leak caused by either lose pipe or lose vacuum lines..you would definitely know if you engine blew and it doesnt sound like it did

You can belittle my knowledge no problem. I basically have none when it comes to this. GNV, if my intake manifold is blown off, how screwed am I?

NO haha your actual intake manifold wont' blow off. I am talking about the upper i/c hose piece that connects to it.

OK...I know I'm a big dumb*** when it comes to this , so sorry. I really appreciate all the quick responses. You guys are giving me hope. I wish I could check all the IC hoses, but I can't. Maybe if someone walked me through a little on the phone tomorrow or something. I am planning on having it towed 40miles to Dyno4mance, a very good Evo tuner.

This might be the best thing for you to do. If you have no clue what we are taking about it is better that you do not touch your car.

dude, do as everyone has told you!! This happened to me 3x already, all times the hoses popped of the intake manifold and they looked like they were tight but they werent. Check that one and ALL the lic pipe hoses. You do not have blown motor, you have a leak somewhere.. Common!! How hard can it be? Its common sense!!!!!!!!!!!
