any one else having issues with their hood chipping?

I've noticed recently that the front of my hood and a few spots towards the windshield have tiny little chips in the paint down to the aluminum on my 05 Evo VIII. My wifes Yukon which is 3-4 months older w/ twice the milleage has almost zero chips and both vehicles are driving the same roads. I've never noticed anything hitting my car like gravel or anything else and there are no dents around the chips.
My question is have any of you guys experienced anything similar ?

The paint job on Mitsubishi's arent that great, at least not in my experience with them.

I've had my car for a little over 5 months and the front bumper is screwed up with paint chips and such. My car has a little over 2500 Miles, my sisters Ford Fusion, which is 2 months old, has almost 8000 with no visible paint damage.

It's common on almost all the EVOs I have seen. You also have to realize that the EVO hood sits a lot closer to the ground than your wife's Yukon, more susebtible to rock chips. You could try getting a clear bra installed to avoid chips

Get one if it is not too late. I have an uncountable number of chips from my 30k miles in 2 years. Pisses the hell out of me everyday and every car wash. If you power spray one of those chips it may peal the paint off like Bruce Willis's van in the Jackel. Our paint is like saran wrap.

Part of the problem is that you guys drive too fast and too close to the car infront of you.
Go pass or stay back......far back!!!

BTW NO chip on my paint yet, only an small rock chip on my windshield when I try to pass an slow motatrucker.

8000 miles, 2 chips. Both look like a small pebble bounced off my fascia. Each is about 1mm in length.

I always stay several car lengths back from any cars in front. It seems that there are "issues" with the paint on the hood.

Get used to it unless you have a bra on there. It doesn't matter how far behind you drive it you will get chips and pits.

My bumper is pitted from highway driving and I've got one good chip in the hood from a boulder that rolled off a tractor trailer carrying a bulldozer.

The part that really pissed me off about the hood chip was I was at least 250ft behind him and got into the passing lane to avoid being directly behind him. I saw the rock fall off, bounce a couple times, WHAM into hood, off the hood, take a good chip out of the windshield, and finally hit the rear wing after going over the roof. I was amazed, it was like a smart bomb.
