Seatbelt Removal?

I just received my non-retractable 3 point seatbelt that uses the factory bolts. I would like to remove the factory seatbelt for a clean installation. Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the plastic piece that covers the retractor area?
It's the part that the seatbelt runs down inside on the pillar.

This is what I'm trying to install. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...e_1896_3575205

I want to crank myself down tightly to the seat without haveing to go 4 point and a harness bar.

uhm... what you want to do is "peel" the panel away from the mouldings then pull around carefully a bit to see where the attatchments are and then from there it should pop off wtih some light force.

the biggest thing is that it wraps around the base of the bpillar. after that it's easy.

it's actually much more difficult to get the seatbelt "hanger" but i don't believe you need to remove that for your application.

This experiment failed. I thought I better give it a try before I completely removed the factory belt. Good thing I did. The belt I bought is way too long and just doesn't sit right on me. Doesn't hold me tightly even when I crank it down.

I thought I'd pass this on to save someone $30-40 who was thinking of buying this.

try the seat belt lock piece (forgot the name), or even a lock off a child seat. you should be able to get it tight and hold it like that.

Are you wanting to crank yourself down for racing purposes? If so I recommend to just bite the bullet and go with the 4 points and harness bar. much safer.
