Transfer case replacement!!
Transfer case replacement!!
Heres the situation, I had my friend pick my car up tonight and he was driving it for maybe 30 miles he started hearing this loud whining noise, he thought the wheels locked up, then he heard a clunkin noise, and it didn;t want to move but after he gave it a lil more gas it drove fine. He said it was the transfer case might be going out, Heres the thing I got the clutch replaced about 2 months ago ACT organic clutch with fydanza flywheel, The clutch and flywheel was installed by a mitsubishi dealer. My question is since the dealer installed the clutch will they still warranty the car and replace the Transfer case??? The car is bone stock except for the clutch and C-west bodykit.. My car is an 05 Evo

i don't, however, think it's the transfer case. only 03-04 evo has open front differential that is too weak for hard launching and can break from abuse. 05+ evo has torsen front diff which is stronger and i have not seen any posts about it going out for no reason, including abuse. it is possible that something is not adjusted properly with the clutch or throwout bearing. i'm not experienced enough with that to tell you for sure. but it might just be that and not the t-case.
ACT Clutch and ACT pro lite flywhee;
I had the ACT clutch and prolite flywheel installed.
after broke in. When I shift to 3 or 4 th gear, specially 4th.
I push up to like 5K-6K RPM and let the Gas pedal go. It make loud granding
noise. whinning noise. I dont know how to say it. but it is so anoying.
anybody know what happened? any suggestions?
thanks

It all depends on how easy going your tech guy and your district rep are. When you take it to the dealer, you must assert yourself as a mature person.
Obviously, the only problem is, your clutch is aftermarket, I would at least take it back to the same dealer that installed it for you...
here's my t-case warrenty situation...not 100% related but might be an interesting read, in general, I didn't get hassled:

yeah man, I'm scared the wrong fluid problems....I pick up my Evo tomorrow for the fixed T-case. I asked 3 times before the work whether he had Mitsu. Diaqueen..and the head mechanic said yes he did. I even offered him my diaqueen if he didn't have any.
So what I'm going to do tomorrow is this...I'm going to go take my can of Diaqueen with me when I pick up my car and ask him 1 more time whether he used this exact fluid..if he had any heisitation, I'm going to offer for him to use my fluid and change the t-case fluid on the spot...
