yes and no.

EVO's unigobdy has over 200 more welds to the unibody, and a multitude of extra bracing.

The Lancer nor the Evo is horrible safety wise, when you actually look at the standards that were in place when the car was new. Side impact standards were less stringent in the late 90's / early 2000's when the car was designed., Add to that the fact that while Ive been on EvoM (or Lancerforums originally) Ive seen some horrible Lancer/Evo wrecks and very few injuries. Research before you make vague assumptions

Thanasi (a member on this board) has a crashed evo where the steering wheel moved from the left to the right, and the drivers seat is the width of your hand.

the evo's crash test rating maybe a little bit better. but i saw someone on the board who totaled his evo and his airbags didn't deploy. i also saw on the news about a evo which crashed, both passengers killed even with seatbelts on, supposely everything fell apart on impact.

Its not a Nascar, I bet in those situations other cars would have had similar damage. Look up crash rating from 2002 if you dont believe me. Also search how many other members have had wrecks they walked away from.

Or quit complaining and sell your "unsafe" car. Wont bother me in the least...

Guess what....we're all going to die anyway.

If you're so scared of an accident that you'd choose a bucket of shlt mkV Jetta over an Evo, then you're not in the Evo demographic anyway.

I hear the new Camry's are nice, big squishy seats for your moist vagina and lots and lots of airbags.

Just because a car is totalled... doesn't mean that the airbags are going to come out. I got my mustang cut in half by a telephone pole w/ no airbag deployment.... in some situations if it is deployed it can make the damage worse, which is why there are certain trigger points.
