I do Noise and Vibration for automotive applications. How do you mount this? Does this go in to the same place as the stock pump or are you mounting it to the body of your car? Sorry to be ignorant on the Walbro. Just don't know how it is installed. Check to make sure none of your fuel lines are touching the body of your car. It is ok for it to be on stock clips. PM me so I can remember to check this on Monday

Funny, it started making a lot of noise on a hot day.

I've heard there are a couple of versions of the 255 lph. I wonder if that's why some whine and some don't.
There's a regular 255 and a hi flow 255.

walbro whine

Mine has been going since like day 1, I have a walbro 255 hp and it's pretty loud. Probably doesn't help that I have no back seats, sound deadening, or carpet. I am not really bothered by it, I just wish some of these other EVO owners whined less. If you want a fast car you have to deal with it. If you want a nice quiet ride leave it stock.

I remember the first time I heard mine start whining the first time - I had just arrived at the track and I thought something was getting ready to blow up!! I was almost ready to call it a night when I finally determined where the noise was coming from.

Walbro whine sucks. When i first heard it i thought something was about to blow up, but after doing a SEARCH i found that it's very common. I guess i have to just deal with it.

I have had the whine since day one. It only starts to whine when it has been run real hard, or if it is just too hot outside. The warmer the car the louder the whine. At night when it's cool, even while running it a little hard I dont hear it. BUt after some "spirited driving" It whines liked UFO

I thought it only happens when it's really hot out. My will never make a sound until the temp gets above 95 and I'm driving for a while.
