Ludi: What is your vacuum reading at idle? Mine reads 11 w/AC(825 rpm), 14 w/o AC(975 rpm), with gears at +2/0 as well. Maybe mine sounds just a bit different at idle because of the 272 exhaust cam.

Vacuum at those settings was between -10 and -12 (idle 'burps' between 900-1000rpm). I have since added a ported head and vacuum dropped to between -9 and -11, which has forced me to bump up the idle target to 1050 RPM. Idle vacuum is now back to an average of around -11. The way my ECU is programmed, it does not really fluctuate between AC on or off.

Sounds like mine and I have 264s and stock cam gears. It didn't use to sound that lopey but it just started that way about 2 months ago.

wow, that sounds awesome....280's are a little overkill for what I would ever want

 

I wasn't that impressed for some reason... sounded like a bike constantly letting small farts out every other second

but i bet it sounds wicked when you WOT

 

Yeah the sound of the 280s idleing in my Evo reminds me a lot of the '98 VFR 800 I used to have.
