Mitsubishi Leaving the US Market? | [MERGED]
Recent Article
Quote from American Driver column by David E. Davis, Automobile Magazine..." Actually, our batting average has been pretty good. We saluted the Mitsubishi Evo just in time, as that company seems almost certain to run aground."
Hmm, there's no way to predict exactly what will happen. There are two very different sides to the story, each with their own very valid points to back them up. Personally, I don't hope that Mitsu goes under, or shuts down US operations (to be more specific) ... but at the same time, I never have my EVO serviced by Mitsu. Bottom line for me is, I love this car. I bought it because it's an awesome machine, not because I expected an amazing resale value later on down the road. I'm just gonna drive the hell out of it and enjoy every minute of it, no matter what happens.
<---- Not worried. Mitsu's service is already shotty. I guess it might affect the guys with the 05's, but personally, it wont affect me that much. But I dont think Mitsu is going anywhere. They may be bought by another company and Mitsu's "business model" will be changed. could actaully be better...could be worse.
Look at the Big Picture
Now I know that its hard to believe that a major company like MMNA could go under, but here are some points that everyone needs to look at:
1) The US is the largest automobile market in the world, if your losing money in the most profitable market in the world then you are doing a very poor job.
2) Ofcourse MMNA is saying that they aren't selling, the deal hasn't been made yet. If they came out saying that they were looking for a buyer stock values would plumet due to uncertainties overnight.
3) The damage has been done, the wallstreet journal is the end all be all source for business news, once you have gone that far there is no going back. Anyone who thinks that the small articles with MMNA defending its position are the truth needs to look at the big picture.
Like was said earlier, denial is not just a river in Africa

The WSJ is the most unbiased News source you can get. That I know. Want Biased? Watch Fox news, they HATE Bush and lean to the left, I forget which side source leans right.

Mitsubishi Leaving the US Market? | [MERGED]
A family friend who owns a number of dealerships in CT told my brother yesterday not to buy the EVO because
is leaving the US in a few years...He also said that you won't be able to buy a part or anything...ya i know I don't believe it either...could you guys please convince him that this guy was just trying to get a sale...

Dont think so. Mitsu is here to stay, I dont know if the Evo is or not though. But even if Mitsu were to leave the U.S.A you could still get parts. Look at Fiat, you can still get new parts here in the states "Bayless Fiat" and Fiat has not sold cars here for a long long time.
