I buff my RR with white cotton baby diapers and I have never seen any red on any of them. So I don't know?

So since I'm not a paint guru.. what does this mean to me? Is there a way to get a clear coat put on? Would it be worth it, or just repainting the car entirely is eventually in the books?

I'm not doubting the posibility that the early Evo8s actually have no clear coat.

But as I described previously, rubbing off color when buffing is not a reliable test for clearcoat as several Japanese automakers use a "tinted" clear coat finish on the paint process for red in particular.

The butthurt RR guys aren't going to believe us, man. Even though my friend's RR car was sprayed by a shop and it was proven to us.

The code is a single stage non cleared red. No tinted clear, no nada. That's what single stage means.

Who ever the F said the 03's have clear coat is a 'tard. Do you even own one?

(Not referring to the gent that said he bought it as an extra)

On the flip side, 2003 Apex Silver and Tarmac Black for sure are cleared, but they're dual stage with metallic (silver) or blue metallic (black).

all cars come with clearcoat.

red in mitsubishi color, that mix always fade from the sun.

It's been a known fact that red fades more than any other color due to a pigment that's in the paint.

It's single stage paint. It gets paint and clear in one shot.
