The Falkens are a dry performance tire and do that better than anything cheaper than the stock Advans as far as non-R compound tires anyway. here is a comparo that includes the pilot sport A/S

Here is one with the stock Yoko's, they do not have falkens on Tire Rack

The tire salesman really did his job well, didn't he. Sorry you believed him and made an impulse buy rather than talking with us first. . .

1 - NO ONE would but the summer tires - why do that when you can get an all seaon tire that handles just as well in the dry???
- or -
2 - their Pilot tires are known for non-top-of-the-line handling, so the A/S tires are equally as mediocre as the rest of their lineup

Because you bought a $30k car instead of a $200k car then you have a bit of money left over to buy a decent set of snow tires for the winter . . .
The Michelins are a great ALL SEASON tire, no arguments there. But they certainly do NOT compare to the Falkens, Advans, or most other high perf. Japanese tires for summertime driving.
FYI, last year's National Championship in autocross was won in part on stock EVO ADVAN tires in the rain. They whooped azz on high-dollar Hoosier rain tires.
