This was your orignal statement, which is false. You did not say Lotus ideas were used, or any other vague statement. If you make an untrue commet, at least fess up to it. Just like you saying your over it. Thats funny but when Im over something I dont feel the need to make a sarcastic comment.

Correct you in a nice way? How wasnt it nice? I could infer your just like everyone else on the internet too, giving false info about a car you own...

Yes, your possesions might point to you being a grown up, but you posts dont. A man is not made by his material wealth. Just some food for thought. Enjoy your cars. Im sure we are all impressed.

some of you have been talking about dropping a k20 into the elise. a shop across the street from my workplace called prototype racing sells a kit to bolt in a k20 or b18. pretty cool stuff.

isn't that true for most/all toys? the more expensive they get the less practical they are.

agree 100%. faulting the elise for not having a carpet is like saying that the Ferrari F50 blows because it doesn't have stereo, no electric windows, no fancy adjustable seats, no "amenities" at all aside from air conditioning

Thank you for correcting me. I was not give false information, was just not relaying it correctly.

A man is not made by his material wealth, you are very correct.....

But a man is also not made by trying to correct everyone and say that poeple are making false statement. Like I said above, all I did was mis-relay info, but all your doing is trying to prove someone on the internet, real manly.

My post are alot more grown up then a lot of **** on this forum.

The only real drawbacks I can see from owning an Elise are:

1.) Doesn't have much space to play around in
2.) Would be extremely expensive (or impossible) to repair even minor body damage. Running over a squirrel at high speeds could crack some major fiberglass components costing thousands.
3.) More expensive to modify (and own)

While even small power modifications would yield significant results in the acceleration department, there seems to be a limit on the power output of the Toyota 2ZZ powerplant before you will need forged internals + forced induction to raise the power any higher. Building up a proper forced induction setup for this car would require nothing short of a second mortgage (intercooler, piping, turbo, manifold, injectors, fuel pump, built block, fuel management, bigger axles, etc.). Lots of people run a turbo setup on the stock motor, but tuning it is a nightmare, and people rarely get above 300 hp. Despite what it might cost, it makes me drool to think of what a properly tuned 500 hp Elise would feel like

i recall seeing that awhile back before the elise came to our shores. overseas i believe their prototype model or even actualy some of their production models came with a k20 jap spec rsx-r motor. i think they should have keep that idea rather then switched the motors when it came to america.

just to correct some wrong info, since the internet is packed with it.

1. The evo (us spec) can not pull over .92 lateral G stock. Whoever said .95 to .96 got their specs from a jpn or uk car.
2. The integra type r does not pull .89 g's stock, it pulls .92, same as the s2k. 98-2001 ITR stock.
3. the lotus elise is about dead even on the highway with a stock evo ix
4. it doesnt take 20k to make an s2k fast. I have many friends with 300-700whp s2k's. Turbo'd. My friend Giles, made 550whp on his stock s2k block. Daily drives it at 390whp on 93. No internals, just cams and a turbo and bolt ons.
5. this thread needs to end, too many people stating too many opinions and making too many incorrect statements.

ANY car can be fast if the money is there, who cares whether it's a 4 door family rally car or a 2 door pure all out race car that is doing it. All that matters is whether YOU enjoy the car.

everyone wants different stuff, i personally dream of these:

NSX-R
ferrari 360 stradale challenge
mclaren f1 LM

have a nice day
