It is amazing how much can be damaged on these cars. How much would they sell it back to you for? I would have built and shed for that thing there and so many awesome parts on that baby. Hell just imagine what is in front of the doors. Well hope you are back into another evo soon. This thing makes me paranoid about my own car if something happens to it I probably couldn't replace with a new one since they aren't making them anymore. Good luck be safe post pics of the new one.

im sorry to hear that, bro i love my car very much it also makes me paranoid as well, but you know to me, i it feels like if i driven it once, then im fine with it and just move on to another one. truthfully if you love the car, wait til january 07 and pick up another one, it would be hella cheap.

tkc

ps i feel like that car is not totalled. *evo is a car built to replace everything* just get a wide body kit lol.

You should have never admitted fault. Your insurance company should the one who battles it out in court over the other insurance company. Was the other driver on a cell phone? Anyways, I am glad you are okay.

glad to hear it was totaled. That was best. Being from Detroit, I always want to go back up there in the winter and cut up in my EVO. Good luck with your search. I know there are some good dealers on this site that give great rates on new EVOs. There are also a lot in the for sale section.

Good luck!

This is why insurance cost so much. If you were at fault, you should have the integrity to accept responsibilty and deal with the consequences which this guy did.

you wouldnt want to fix that anyway.. it would never drive the same again.. plus if you go to sell it later on down the line, its going to kill the value of it.

RedV,
According to my adjuster at Allstate, if you are not found to be 51% at fault, your rates will not increase. In your case, since you receive a $90 ticket for "Failing to yield the right of way" from the police officer, and admitted fault to the other party, your odds of being at fault is most likely 51% or higher. Sorry its not good to hear but that is from Allstate. But glad everyone is unhurt.

If you failed to yield as per the accident report, you are at fault, end of story. If you both backed into each other in a parking lot, you are both at fault. If you back into someone else, you are at fault.

On the plus side, it's great for you that it was totalled. Get a new IX and be VERY happy they didn't try to fix it because then you'd be miserable when it had 20 flaws when it was "fixed".

hey man,

i think the moral of the story here is sh*t happens. Even the best drivers out there can make a mistake, and everyone should accept that. Dont beat yourself up cause it just as easilly could have been someone else.

Congrats on getting an evo 9!!! I switched from an 8 to a 9 (after my 8 MR got stolen) and I can tell you, its a great feeling to be back in an evolution. Hope it all works out for you man, life rolls on...

I don't think this should be a problem. Most states, if not all, require the titles for totaled cars to be marked as such.

Well after going through the whole totalled Evo thing, I think I've found a worthy replacement. Gezon and Crown fought it out, but in the end Crown (in Holland) ended up earning my business and I was very happy with how things went.

I wish I could have purchased the old wreck, but our Evos just hold their value so well that it just wasn't financially do-able for us.

I wanted to thank everyone on the forum for the words of support after my accident. It goes to show the quality of people we have here in the Evo community.

Anyways, here's some pics of the new Evo. Although I won't be running (gotta do the break in thing), I'll see some of you on Monday at Grattan.
