Any1 with a Valentine One Radar Detector - Please Help!!

Hey guys,

My day just got a valentine one radar detector, so I wanted to suprise him by installing the thing permantly installing it and adding the concealed display. So i went to Valentine's site to order the parts and they end up calling me saying they won't sell me the pieces without having a the serial number off the back of the the thing. I'm sorry, that seems like the stupidist thing ever. I don't want to ask me dad for the thing cause that would defeat the whole "suprise" of it. What I need is someone who actually bought one through Valentine to let me use their name and number on the back of their unit. Could some1 please help?!? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I can't give you my serial number because it's associated with my account with them and it would screw me up for future service. However, can't you look at the box or receipt or some other papers that came with it, or ask the vendor or whoever sold it to you?

Well, to hardwire it, you don't need to order anything because the V1 should come with the necessary wires and clips to hardwire it on the car. As for the concealed display, can't help you there.

I have no idea where any of the boxes, reciepts etc are (again, not my unit my dad's - i dont live at home so there is no way for me to get any of that stuff) I believe the problem is my father got it from a friend anyway, that's why he missing so much stuff. Some1 please just PM a serial number, it won't screw anything up other then allowing me to order some parts. Or if you dont want to give me the number order me the parts and Ill pay u!

You usually need a NAME to go with the serial number...been my experience. I don't have one, but many friends do.

See ebay, maybe they have a kit:

good luck!

I agree that this sounds a little weird.. also couldn't you just write down the serial # by saying you left something in his car this looking at it and writing the serial # down

Years ago I ordered some parts and didn't have to have a Serial #, policy must have changed.

Glad to see you got your problem resolved.
