Viper 791XV alarm system for IX?
hello fellas!
I got this alarm system from work for the evo, and a buddy of mine was going to install it for me, but as I mentioned before, I dont plan on voiding my warranty as ill keep it stock. Now, by installing this system (remote start) will this void my warranty or has anyone encountered confrontations with mitsu dealerships when they notice you have a remote start?
It also says it has a built in turbo timer, but my buddy said that its a manual turbo timer from what he remembers and it would be best if I get a TT thats specifically made for that.

The autostart wont void the warranty unless it ruins some part of the car which is highly unlikely. I asked the dealership. I would do the same thing with the TT because the alarm cant sense how hard you've been driving the car. So if its set for 30sec but it should really cool down for a minute, it's not sufficient.
You dont NEED a turbo timer.... What I usually do is cruise for a mile or two before my exit, and dont boost to my house. After that, I leave the engine on until I get all my stuff out of my car and then turn it off.
From what I was told from my buddy who installs alarms, you have to use your spare key to get the remote start to work. Why or how... I dont know. I do plan to get this alarm just to lower my insurance.

yeah its true, thats what my buddy said u need the key because you need to make the car believe that theres a key in the ignition for it to remote start, they ruin the battery and put it in the brain of the alarm system.

If someone installed your remote start and you needed a spare key for it to work then they shouldn't be installing. I love this alarm system. If you touch the brakes without the key in the ignition, it kills the car.
If you need to cool down your turbo before you turn it off and dont want to sit, then you want a turbo timer. Mitsu recommends that you cool the car for 1min+ depending on the driving habit. Read your manuals, it says what you need to do. "NEED" is a relative term.
