New Car Smell

Anyone on this board has a problem with the smell coming off the vehicle?
We have the car for 6 days now and everytime my wife gets in, it makes her naseated, and for me, it gives me a headache?
Seems like the materials are giving off a toxic odor?
It even has a Proposition 65 sticker on the driver's window!

Is it a burning smell?

If so, it's probably a combo of the Brakes and clutch breaking in.

I used to get it all of the time (it was real bad at frist, but has decreased significantly).

I was concerned at first but was told by the dealership, and members of this forum (thanks guys) that this is completely normal.

Hope this helps!

drive with all your windows open for a really long time.. you can try that or get some air fresheners.. my car still has thaat new car smell after 9000 miles, but it just not as strong. i had that realy strong smell when i first got it too, but some freeway driving on hot days with all windows down changed that

I would bet you smelling the gases given off by the plastic materials of the interior. This should dissipate quite a bit over the next few months. There is no easy way to make it go away any faster all you can try and do is mask it with some carpet fresh or air freshener. Also make sure to crack the windows when you park the car for more than a few hours.

Thanks for the info!

Right now, we tried to drive with the windows opened and leave the windows opened as well in the garage so hopefully the smell will go away!
