Full boost partial throttle?
Full boost partial throttle?
I just picked up my IX about a week ago so I am still trying to figure out all of its normalities. I was wondering how it is okay for the engine to be receiving full boost on partial throttle. I mean, in fifth gear, I barely even have to press the throttle for it to completely spool up. I know on my WRX this was considered a bad thing and you were suppose to limit the amount of load, especially on hills. Can someone explain to me if this is okay or not? Does the maf read the amount of air coming in? Why can't they create a linear boost application where throttle is directly proportional to the amount of boost. Thanks for the help!
One more question...Why does the factory wastegate allow for such a large spike? Why would the engineers allow for that rather than developing a more responsive and more efficient wastegate? How can this be okay for the engine. Thanks again!
