Rate Your Mitsubishi Dealership

hey everyone.........just wanted to hear peoples feedback on their mitusbishi dealership experiences...good and bad. ...

Id like to start by saying that all the dealerships in my area at least treated me like a punk piece of **** because im only 22 years old and I wanted to buy an evo. Two in particular is girard mitsubishi and east providence mitsubishi. Girard had this huge sale going on with every car, so I decided to go down there and ended up sitting there for over an hour waiting because they already prequalified me to not be able to afford an evo. So i got up waved the 10k cash I had on me for a down payment and told them to **** off and walked out.

You handled that right.

Victory Mitsubishi in Haverford, PA doesn't sell Evos, so for them.

Jeff D'Ambrosio Mitsubishi in Downingtown, PA didn't feel like dealer trading for the car I wanted even though I was willing to pay extra or do the trade myself. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't know Black existed for the MR in September, rather than say they lied to try to get me to buy in stock.

Cherry Hill Mitsubishi in Cherry Hill, NJ wasted TONS of my time and subjected me to loud, annoying music the entire time. I was all set to buy the car 'till I got into the little room to sign the papers and they tacked on over $600 in BS fees and insisted that to get the deal, I had to take their financing at 12.99%. Either that or they jack up the price $1,000 and I can use my own 5.75%.

Maywood Mitsubishi in Maywood, NJ got me to drive all the way there and then wanted $2,000 over sticker for a regular Evo IX they had in stock!

Winner Mitsubishi in Dover, DE was kind enough to point me in the right direction when they didn't have what I wanted in stock.

Roby Mitsubishi in Dublin, OH was acceptable.

Lets just say all dealer's goal are to make money and if they are going to lose money for warranties stuff, they're going to come up with some lame excuses. So I rate them a "D"

My dealership sucked. Golden State Mistubishi - Sacramento, CA. The salesman wouldn't shut up about how awesome EVO's are, kept touching my fiancee, and was all around annoying as crap. They tried to jack up the price 5k on the paperwork, which, thankfully I caught, because I was so hyped about getting an EVO I almost missed it. THEN, the best part, they call me a week after I drove the car off the lot, the idiots forgot to put the sales tax on the contract. And had the gall to ask me for a check for the full amount. I had to yell at the sales manager before they finally agreed they could print a new sales contract with the tax included. The best part is when I asked, "How many cars do you sell in a day? Isn't sales tax a big part of making a sale? How do you forget something like that? (around 2k+ on a brand new evo)." And his response was that I'm the first person it's happened to. Sure.

If you're gonna buy an EVO, don't go where I did.

OH OH, I almost forgot! They wanted to CHARGE ME for the FACTORY WARRANTY, trying to tell me it wasn't included in the price of the car, when it's all over the "2006 Evolution Brochures" they had just handed me an hour earlier.

Obrien Mitsubishi, Normal IL - Never had any problems with them. Always clocked the mileage just to be sure they weren't out harrassing my car. (they never were) Always had timely service, and the service manager is polite and helpful.

Fresno Mitsubishi hooked me up at South Coast pricing plus $500 (saved me a long trip so it was worth it); AND did a dealer trade to get me the color I wanted; AND gave me a great price on my RX-8 in trade; AND did not try to stick in any hidden charges; AND matched my credit union's low rates; AND made sure the paperwork took under half an hour; AND got me seated in my car right after I signed the papers. They totally came through for me. Huge props.

PS. I change my own oil and rotate my own tires so I can't comment on their service. I know they're "black listed" on this forum, but I am withholding judgment until I have a warranty claim.

Roseville Mitsubishi, Nice folks nice department a little stiff on letting people test drive I guess thats normal. Otherwise a good place to talk to sales people and things. I ended up buying my Evo RS from them for 25k used.

Maita Mitsubishi, don't bother my experience was they don't care at all..

EDIT:
I almost forgot, I'm in the Sacramento, California region

Don Williamson Mitsubishi in Jacksonville, NC is not recommended. They are my local dealership and back in 03 I had to go out of town to get my Evo. Came back with the price from the other dealership and told them if they matched I would buy from them instead of driving an hour out of my way, and they flat out refused. Fast forward to 06 and once again I had to go out of town to get my new Evo. I went there three different times and they would never budge on price. They want MSRP for all IX's and IX SE's, and mark up on all MR's. They drove my 03 and offered me $20,300 when the car had 29,853 miles on it. A few days later when I went back in with a new offer they wanted to test drive my car again stating that it was a different guy. I give him the keys and when he comes back they only offer $19,000 for it. I told them that they offered more three days ago and out of the office comes the same guy that drove it the other day (they just told me it was a different guy, but it was the same one), and he states that three days ago it was under 30,000 miles and now it is over. I said give me my keys and told them they will continue to sit on all seven of the Evo's in stock for quite a while. They see all the Marines coming back from Iraq with a wad of cash in their accounts and try to milk them for all of it. In my case the initial offer was of course MSRP, taxes, doc fees, blah blah. I had to point out that I qualified for two rebates, $500 Mitsu loyalty and $500 military. Then the look of amazement as they attempted to pretend they didn't know these rebates existed. I am a Marine so I don't appreciate it when someone is trying to do this to me or my fellow Marines. I then put a For Sale sign on the car and sold it for $22,000 two weeks later.
I am glad they didn't budge because I then called Myrtle Beach Mitsubishi in South Carolina and asked for a best price out the door. The guy stated he couldn't tell me over the phone and I told him how the local dealership refused to budge on MSRP. He stated I guarantee I can beat that price. He said you can have it for $100 over my invoice. Week and a half later I went down and picked up my GG IX SE for $32,143 out the door.

Dan Georger Mitsubishi, in NY - is horrible so far. They tried to offer my 19,000k trade-in on my '03 Evo with 17k miles. That's a joke. The KBB resale is in the range of 27k for them.

Biggers Mitsubishi was a good dealership when I first bought the evo but that changed about 6 months ago. Everytime I bring it in for a repair, something else goes wrong and/or they either order the wrong part or have to keep my car for a couple days. Here is an example, I had my 3rd and 4th gear synchros replaced about 5 months ago and when I went to get my car after 1 week, it had 2 scratches on the trunk? Now how does something like that happen? Then I got my 5th gear synchro replaced about 1 month ago and had my splash guard replaced. It took them over 2 weeks to get a splash guard and again when I went to pick my car up, it had 2 scratches on the hood. Luckily enough, after talking with the serivice manager for 3 weeks, my car is at the dealership getting the hood repainted and so far it has been 1 week. The worse experience was when they were replacing my synchros, they FORGOT to tighten my cv joint and my wheel almost came off my car driving my sister home. Then they fixed it and left my lip bent and my splash guard in ruins. They even used the broken boot to fix the cv joint! All I can say is that I am not bringing my car to Biggers again. Next time it will go straight to the District Rep. in Schaumburg.

In this case, KBB is very wrong. A regular consumer can walk into a dealership and buy a brand new 2006 IX for 27k, therefore, your '03 is worth a lot less.

Oh, ya, that's the number the dealer might ask for the car, but won't likely get. When using kbb.com, check the Private Party value if you're selling it yourself, or the Trade-in value if you are selling it to a dealership.

For instance, your '03 Evo would be $18,500 in Fair condition according to KBB. Sounds like the dealership made you a reasonable starting offer, and you could probably have negotiated up to the KBB Good value of $20,500. Those are the numbers I get for my zip code. Prices vary around the country.
