Winged Warrior III. May 2007 Indy. (import vs USA)
yeah i am sure he helped out.
But last year at DSM shoot out i had to fix one of his customer cars that had a dead injector and "the story went that David did not have time to find out which one it was" but Shep came though with a injector once we found the dead one it took about 30 seconds to find the dead injector.
This person said this is the best the car has ever ran.
So people that are car people help each other out.
And this event is for the Kids i could not make it down this year but next year i am going to try and make it.
It looks like it is going to be a good event.

There are 2000+ other DSM / Evo guys there who im sure would have been glad to help out. They do motor swaps, turbo installs and clutch jobs in the hotel parking lots at night. Im sure an injector is not an issue for someone who has the time to take a look.
Your point here is pretty irrelevant. It would be different if someone came to the shop with that problem and seen David sitting in the office, watching TV, drinking a iced tea and asked him for some help and he tells you he's to busy.
Good job helping out a fellow car guy!
If it was at the shootout or the day before at our open house it probably was the case that David was to busy to help or any of the BR employees for that matter. Everyone that attends here for the event knows how crazy things are and that we are all running around like mad or doing something trying to keep things running smoothly. What do you expect us to do make others mad by shutting down the dyno or tell the track people to hold on while we find this bad injector?

so yeah david helps people at the track and so does everyone else even if they don't make a living from it.
"I think the story goes that David built the whole car it was tuned at busher and he picked up the car just before the event and the car had a bad injector. AMS was going to bring a new injector but brought the wrong style of injectors. It was not easy to get the injector clips off because someone used RTV to hold the clips on. But once we did we got a injector from Shep and then they did a little more road tuning and the car owner said the car never ran better."
case and point is that the customer spent a lot of money at this shop and did not get the service that he expected before or after the event.
But enough said we are way off topic here everyone has good and bad days.

I did not ever say u guys were sitting doing nothing but what i did say is that this customer who had spent a lot of money at your shop did get help from a couple car guys and another shop owner "shep"
so yeah david helps people at the track and so does everyone else even if they don't make a living from it.

EDIT: Now that you mention the "story" I know who you are talking about. You evidently have NO IDEA about the story or what went on and you are just going by hear say since it starts out with "I think the story goes".
Please get your story straight before coming in and trying to slam our service. The situation was a quite a bit more complicated than you are trying to make it sound.

So the story is not really hear say what happened before or after might be.
But i saw what i saw even the RTV on the injector clips
That car belongs to Brandon and was a theft recover pieced together by another shop that left him both financially strapped but screwed. It was hauled here on a trailer in shambles. We fixed the car, the injectors clips are not available seperately and were missing as many are. As you saw a dab of silicone holds them in place very well and that is how the problem was handled/repaired.
The reason I could not replace the injectors is they were RC1600 cc's and we had NON here.
Thank you for your ignorant, one sided input.

anyway i am done here u win the ***** fest on the web
congrats
ummm.........uughhh... remember the kids........ uummm they are grateful for what we did for them. i had a good time and am now kinda glad i chose not to run my car. and just showed up for a fun day and support a GOOD cause.
We were just trying to get something squared away from someone who had to throw their $.02 in about something that wasnt even relevant to this thread.
Back on topic!
BTW, I agree on the kids benefiting, we were not just competitors we sponsored the event and put up some money for it.
I enjoy the event because it is a "street car" event with multiple things your car has to do well at, not just drag, not just road race, not just show. Also nice to be involved in something for a good cause.

Thanks broeli, I appreciate the support.
If they add in a road course next year I would not compete with my RS, speeds are too high, risks are too high to mess up the car.
Any of you guys that don't want me to compete again with my "shop" car just get with Kevin and tell him to add the road course...............
I'm pissed off when I get a chip in the car, no way would I risk seeing it wrecked on the road course.
If the road course happens guess we'll bring the Magnum.

At this event the last sweeping corner was about as extreme as I would want to get without a cage. Nothing liking breaking loose and sliding at 80mph still trying to accelerate. Fun stuff but I used up my nine lives a long time ago. That is about as much excitement as I needed from road/autocross course in "street" trim.
Evolutionary, you mentioned that I could probably do my own alignments. Unfortunately, I cannot. David offered to sell me his old alignment tools at a very fair price but I am mentally challenged when it comes to a tape measure for some reason. I am sure with some practice I coudl have gotten it down but would rather have a shop with more precise equipment take care of the task. I actually did have my car aligned by Tires Plus before I took it to David and needless to say they did a horrible job.
I think we all agree that the kids are what comes first here...at least I share that feeling and appreciate all the vendors, volunteers, and especially Kevin for putting on such a great event
Yes it is about the kids/and we have a BLAST doing what we all love to do with our cars. See how it accelerates/brakes/turns, etc.... ORP(O'Reilly Raceway Park) Loved the event, and want's us back year after year. We have the venue now, so it is down hill from here-our future location is now secure. (No more airport hopping
). I have pondered the idea of having some of the UPPER CLASSMEN (pros) run the road course at Putnam Park on Saturday, while we do the autox/drags/slalom at ORP on Saturday, then have the "pros" return on Sunday to do what the "average joes" did on Saturday. It was just an idea. I don't want to complicate things, just smooth out this and that rule, and PERFECT what we have going. I don't think the board likes this "Putnam" idea. We are meeting this week to discuss all aspects of the next one, so I will keep you apprised on what we come up with.
The boys at Buschur Racing DID sponsor a portion of this event, and they paid alot for ALL of us to benefit from that act of generosity. I appreciate that.
We are Forever greatful. I am really pissed that Jarrod didn't bring out his car, surely he would have won something, or at least had the trophy girl rub her bewbies on the hood.
You guys can get OT as much as you want, as long as you get the differences sorted out, and can shake hands at the next event. Ok, instead of shaking hands, just put the rubber to the track, and lets see who brings what next time!
