Hi, I've been looking for an Evo VII and have noticed something which I honestly am finding hard to find out why and what reason for this difference...

The pictures are posted below. Both pictures of 2001 Evo VII's interiors... However, check out the centre console... How come they are so clearly different... Both owners say they are out of Evo VII GSR's... Help??

Stereo relocations?

Other then thatthey look pretty similar.

 

I have an rsII and it is different than both of those??

 

Check out where the climate control stuff is... Stereo is also in a different position (eg: double DIN location in the center and climate controls below and one has single DIN then climate control then down the bottom it looks like a tape deck?...) ...

Just looks like they put in a modded bezel for the double-din and relocated climate control to the bottom, IMHO... Much like the Orbital double-din conversion for the more recent Evo's.

 

RS has the "no frills" setup while the GSR gets the luxury items climate control, navigation, and other stuff

 

Different model years, perhaps?

 

this is a pic of mine, i have the GSR and its the same as the bottom one. ive never seen a centre console like the first one though, and we have quite a few Evo VII's floating around at the moment, although i think the GT-A version of the VII has the same layout as the top pic???

One is the mechanical HVAC controls, the other is the electrical controls.. Not sure why they did it differently, but I have seen both, typically the lower trim levels would get the mechanical HVAC.. And this has been discussed before, the electrical controls don't swap with the mechanical controls.

Its possible one was a JDM car, the other was a Euro RHD car..
