I dont know if this could help but my AFR was 13.5-15 at idle, when i was boosting it would be 10-11 though, which is what my tuner said it should be. Maybe i was boosting too much, since the temperature was colder?

I'd like to keep that to myself, until I find out what went wrong.

Just by digging through his old posts, I have a pretty good idea who it is.

Good luck bud. Sucks to spend all that time and money, just to go and have to live through it again.

yea it was 10 when i was WOT a couple times. I jsut don't know what happened in 2nd gear that caused it to blow? The shop hasnt taken it apart yet, but they said rod knock is the culprit.

Rod knock of course put the hole in the block, but the rod knock could have been caused by detonation. When you detonate there is a lot of stress on the bearings. Once the bearing can take no more the rod will knock.

You cant tune any motor alike when shooting for high hp on diff types of turbos. Too many variables.

maybe the motor had already had enough and just from a stroke of bad luck it decided to blow out now than before it went into the shop.

4k in 2nd (not a lot of load) right after you left the tune shop??? I'd be pissed and I am confident a decent shop would be rebuilding that engine on their dollar. Sucks to have to stick money in your car you should've been able to use for something else.

maybe it's just a bad shop. They are going to say it is smoething else to aviod paying for a new motor, plus free labor. I had it happen to me once on my Ford. They put the wrong oil pump in when they dropped in the new 351W and like 10 miles away it just made a loud bang and then I glidede to a gentle stop on the highway, but I had to pay for the tow and labor, cause somehow it was my fault. Anyways like I said bad shop. Get a lawyer. Scare tactics work sometimes.
