you almost seem to excited to give money to ams to rebuild your motor. I am not feeling the hole picture here.

Tune was done on the dyno and the street. I live about 40 miles from the shop. I got on it a couple times on the free way and everything was fine. The BOV on the car is extremely goofy.. When I got to a closed off road and was about to test it, the engine gave in. The car was making quite a bit of power, I guess I am just unlucky. I'm not excited about putting anymore money into the car, but at this point it probably wouldn't do me any good to point a bunch of fingers or get fussy. So, I will get a built engine, so something like this won't happen again. If that answers your concern of me being happy to spend more money. But, I am glad im getting an AMS built engine!

On the stock ecu it does not retard timing and if you hold it to long KABOOM rod in my oil pan.

Mine was my own fault however i did not know of the timing retardation thing until it was too late or i would have never used it with the stock ecu.
If this is true...then why does all the popular tuners include the 2 step in their base/custom flashes? I would like to see factual information if it in fact resulted from the 2 step.

Considering what happened after he left his current shop, AMS is a blessing in disguise in this thread. At least you'll know he'll leave happy. After all, most of his parts that are listed in his sig are AMS parts.

Again I say, good luck with what ever road you decide to travel down.

no question the car will be done right at ams. It does suck that his motor let go. I don't believe for one second that the motor could not handle the power. Atleast your positive about the whole thing. Good luck with the new engine. Maybe a destroked 2.1.

Bummer. You also could have had some left over fuel in a cylinder that burned at the wrong time. You might want to talk to another shop to get a second opinion.
