Question Jerky Shifting?

Is it just me, or is the car a little jerky when shifting? When I release the clutch, it feels sort of like I dropped the clutch (though not that much). I was thinking maybe I haven't gotten used to the clutch yet, but this doesn't happen to me when I drive a honda/acura or toyota. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I should just practice sommore..... I am not sure. Any tips? I tried double clutching, and that works a little bit, but it's still pretty nervous.

hold up the rpm's a little more when shifting, dont let them drop below the rev that the next gear will require. let the clutch out slower, but dont ride it.

you prolly just havent mastered it and arent used to such a stiff/direct clutch that the evo has. it doesnt absorb "mistakes" as well as other cars clutches

When I first got it, I thought my stick-shifting abilities were worse than normal because when starting the car would sometimes jerk forward and back. Maybe I'm just simple, but more experimentation showed there was a point right where the throttle would engage that would make the car put on speed then go dead repeatedly.

It was like someone was rocking the car and would make passengers run for the restroom. I can still find the spot in 1st or 2nd if I just give the gas the slightest touch.

Give it time. After a few hundred miles the gearbox should loosen up a little and you'll also get used to the clutch more.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll see what happens. I'm slowly (very slowly) getting it.. Yeah, I noticed that the clutch point came on very sudden. That might be it. I'll try gassing more & letting out slower. Thanks!

whoever said that this clutch was stiff has no idea... this thing feels like butter to me...

i've got no prob with the clutch though... it's the 2-3 shift, that keeps getting me... i've missed that thing a half dozen times... i wasn't speed shifting though, so i never grinded them... i'm taking it easy until i find the best way to go through these cogs...

musch different than my Si, that's for sure... but my Si had an ACT clucth/pp... now that was STIFF...!

clutch is actually pretty damn smooth .... our stock clutches are nice.... our catch point however is a little diff.. so damn high takes some getting used to... and as for the gearbox.... i wish they wouldve done a better job.... sometimes when i shift its hard to shift smooth... never grinded... except when i let my boy drive it who drives a hatchback w/LS turbo... HE GRINDED IT SOO BADLY...
