I'm sorry but aircraft maintenance is a job with a ton of responsibility and I feel should get paid as such. That's what pisses me off - why is it O.K. for someone like Junior to get what he's worth but it's not O.K. for a military aircraft mechanic, sherrifs deputy, firefighter, or grade school teacher to get what they are worth. I don't buy that bulls^%$ your selling about the only people entitled to good money are the lucky few that succeed at "owning their own business". Personally, I don't want to do what Junior does and I definetly don't want to sit behind a desk all day. There are "blue collar" jobs out there that pay good money. People that do skilled jobs do actually make money which is why I'm getting out to become a Certified BMW Diagnostic Tech. My friend turned me onto this and he graduated from UTI and got picked up for the BMW STEP program. He had to do a one year apprenticeship where he earned 14 bucks and hour but after that he got hired as a full time Level 3 BMW Diagnostic Tech making 27 and hour. He's been doing this for the past 5 years and is now a Certified BMW Master Tech and pulls down 85 grand a year. I don't wish to be "white collar" and the only way I want my own business is if I could open a custom hot rod shop like Boyd Coddington or Chip Foose. I like my EVO but my true passion is for old school hot rods and muscle cars. The main reason I'm getting out the military is because I really don't enjoy what I do. I hate flying and the military rules and regulations are getting on my nerves after 8 years - I simply can't do it anymore for the pathetic paycheck I recieve after 8 years of service. It's time to go do something I enjoy and I can't wait for 2008.
Hannibal, you're somehow under the mistaken impression that the harder you work, the more success and cash you're entitled to. The people who make the money are very rarely the ones who make the most sweat. It's the ones who take advantage of every opportunity life gives them, whether it be through luck or through hard work. You talk about your buddy who makes 85k/yr after 5+ years of training. I've got buddies who made over six figures their first year out of college, and it's really not hard for me to understand how even younger people can make more money than that. Am I jealous? Yeah sure I'd love to have as much money as them, but boo freakin' hoo that's just the way the world works. I'm always amazed at people who are so deluded as to think it's wrong for it to be otherwise.

Six figures doesn't strike me as much on the west coast. Sometimes six figures doen't seem like much in Central IL. Whatever you make, you'll allways wish you made more.

Please take your side bar discussions to PM's concerning earning power and what's a fair days pay.

I'm sure we will hear from the OP when he has an opportunity to test his mods. There are very few people running around in a little four door sedan with 370 well tuned horses going to the ground. I cannot a believe there is not an out of state Evo in Illinois be driven by someone with a very big smile. Have a safe trip home.

Speedlimit...

first of all comparing xx tuning to ams is ridicules. its like buying a wedding dress at walmart. plus his numbers are right on.... with the level of modification, his number aren't that far off where they should be.. plus every bit of that 369 is hitting the ground with the triple carbon there delivering it to the ground.
