all I can tell you is negotiate the trade seperately, don't even mention it until you have the price you want on the new car

im 18 as well, and i own a Evo IX GSR. i want you to see what mistake i made buying this car at our age, but im stuck with it so whatevers. now ill explain... my car was 28,599(south coast), i had 5,000 down and my parents credit was great (close to 800). okay now here comes the technical stuff...28,599 doesnt include tax, dealer fee's, licensing fee, lojack and extra fee's...it went from 28,599 to 32,500+ for total price because of fee's ...now, take 32,500 minus 5,000(downpayment). it became 27,500, then youll get your interest rate from your loan for ever how long. even with my parents credit, we got a 8-9% apr which is pretty high(stuck with it until i refinance ect?)...my loan was for 7 years , the total of interest for 7 years is around 10,000..so basically if you total everything if you want to know how much my car is...32,500 + 10,000(interest) = 42,500+... haha okay man, if you can afford it right now then your good, i hope you have a high downpayment but dont forget you will have monthly payments as well, and on top that INSURANCE!!!..insurance on our cars are super high, Lancer Evolutions are rated "Z" level(statistically, super high rate of crashing the car).. so basically you will be paying roughly around $500-1000(including insurance) a month for this car goood luck man!

yeah thats good, downpayment helps out a lot! but its sort of a waste when the car's price depreciates..so basically your putting your "investment" on something that depreciates and doesnt go up(sort of throwing money away).. you shouldnt down too much, just enough that will keep your monthly low. think about it, you wont keep the car forever. just something for you to think about.

well to me...this is a dream car and I usually keep my dream cars in mind for years.

I wanted a 1995 TT Supra 2JZ since I was in 6th grade...and I never really wanted any other car untill I saw the VIII...so now that I'm getting the MR and I have so many ideas for it...I'm sure I'll be keeping the car for a loooong time

best of luck to you with this...in honest opinion if you're going to be moding, why get the MR SE? your paying extra on stuff your gonna be changing... thats how i put it and just got a GSR over the MR. i ended up getting a set of rims with the money saved from not gettin the MR. yah it's nice having 6spd and AYC, but how often do you plan to push your car to it's full potential? I guess it's different for everyone, but best of luck to you with your choice.

thats good then. well it seem like your all set, go and get that EVO! remember no street racing, leave "racing" on the track and..dont be surpised by random drivers reving at you on a 30-35mph speedlimit roads just get used to the sudden attention increase on the road!!

well good luck w/ the buy...I would try to see what you can get from CARMAX for your car now, its a free estimate so you might as well and its good for 30 days. Then once you go to the dealer you can show them what you can get for the trade-in if they offer less or drive off w/ the MR SE and go sell your car to CARMAX and have a chunk of change in your pocket....just a thought, good luck

Good luck with the car man! Hope everything works out for you..I also think you should get a IX GSR since you plan on modding.. I got mine for around 31k ish OTD! and like someone said earlier that 33,000 is going to shoot up after tax, title, license, blah blah..Good luck with your buy though!

if all else fails...I'll end up getting the SE flat out, but I thought it was a killer deal getting the MR for about a grand more than the SE

and for a note...it will be my daily driver
