Fully built HKS Evo with $20000 just runs high11's
Oh man, I can't believe the ignorance in this thread. That car was built for "time attack". And it dominated against all it's competitors in every category. And since when did the evo become the" Budget King of Drag Racing?"...
Sure other evo's have gone faster in the 1/4 mi. for less. But can these same evo's dominate a time attack competition against some of the best tuner's in this country, with that $1500 budget?... Yeah, didn't think so.

come on guys the car was not make for the 1320. it is a all purpose time attack, last time I check in the magazine car and driver it still has a cat. Besides the driver was none other than NOB yeah the HKS driver for their drift cars in D1.
People you guys are forgeting the main point on what the car was built for.
Road course tracks not drag strips the cars has alot more power left in it. The car is tuned to to last not to get full out performance put the car. I can bet you if HKS where to build a drag evo they would make AMS, B/R and many others like there nothing. Why becasue they have everything in house and they can spend a a whole year getting the car to get max grip and go stright down the strip.
This is why B/R and AMS have there own TIME ATTACT cars key word there (time attact ) beacasue its either you do one or the other. If you do build a car for both you would have to swap out parts every time. Becasue whats right for a road course is not right for a drag strip.
Do you not remember the last HKS time attact car it held the record for fastest times around many tracks accross Japan. Since they crashed it now the Cyber Evo is takeing its place with more power and many years of work on it.
So it really dont matter how much they put into it as long as it does well and takeing first place in many events that it goes to it does not matter how fast it goes down the strip. Its all about how fast it can come out the corner with keeping the max grip pn the tramack at all times.

A road course tune is MUCH much more conservative than a street/drag tune. WOT for extended periods of time is a totally different story than a street/drag tune. Why criticize HKS for trying to make money? It doesn't take $20,000 to get into the 11s, but HKS decided to throw $20,000 worth of their own parts on the car so their parts can be featured and glamorized.

After a minute or 2 on a road course you'd be able to almost roast a marshmellow over the hood vent of that car.
Tuned conservatively to prevent that whole "explosion" or "hot fiery death" thing.

It was built for road course and I think when it ran those numbers it was done on pump according to C&D rules for the superfour challange.
I bet with a few tweaks it would be faster.
