evo a "real" performance car?

ok guys, i know everyone loves their evo here and i have total respect for this car and it will possibly be my next purchase (evo x depending on specs).

what i would like to ask is your objective view on whether the evo is considered a real sports or performance vehicle? or is it just a cheap jap sedan that goes fast?

why i am asking this is should i save up and pay double (at least) the price for a new skyline GTR or an older model M3 etc?

i will be planning to mod my car and am very much leaning towards the evo, i just want some feedback from those in the know...

Does it matter? It must to you since you are asking but if you like the car, get it.

Honestly, just the fact that you asked this question means you have no idea what the Evo is, where it came from, what it's accomplished, and what it's capable of...

I suggest getting the Skyline.

Since when is there a "new" Skyline GT-R that can be bought at any price? And since when does a user older M3 cost twice as much as a new Evo? Baby Jesus is awfully close to crying after reading your post. Not quite yet, but close.

It does not matter if it has four doors or two doors. If it's fast like a sports car it's a sports car. By the way are all M3's based off of a four sedan? All Nissan Skylines GTR's are also based off of a four sedan chassis, so does that mean they are not sports cars too? What about the older WRC race cars? In the past they were all four doors modified to race spec. So these car are not sports car too?

Why an "older" M3 if a GTR is on the table? You could probably buy a "newer" M3 and a EVO for the price of the GTR.

Based on your post, it seems you already know the EVO's performance numbers and you're really asking about its reputation. The EVO is what it is and its performance reputation is solid globally. Anyone that is seriously considering the Evo should know this but who knows what you're really thinking.

You know if you read about the evo in all the magazines and all the posts on this great website you wouldn't have asked this question. Dollar for dollar, nothing is even close. Read things first before asking such a silly question.

Define "cheap".

Would u still call it "cheap" when it can beat cars twice or thrice the price?

And oh yea, it's a real performance car. It's called SPORTS SEDAN
