clmate control problem

OK its like 30 degrees here and my heat will not work and I tried searching. No matter what number i put the fan on the AC and recirc automatically comes on like it is stuck in "max AC" mode. The recirc LED ONLY turns off when I put on the defroster but the AC is still on. I have tried everything to fix this (yes i pushed the buttons and made sure the "max ac" mode is not engaged but it does NOTHING) I cannot figure it out. Does anyone know which fuses/relays are associated with the climate control ? Any advice would be greatly appreciatedTIA

I'd love to help, but down here in Texas I don't think I've ever used the heater. I usually have the windows down.

I don't know about the relays, but it sounds like your knob broke in the MAX A/C setting and now when you turn it to "Hot", you're still stuck with the cold setting. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.

You have a new car take it to the dealer and have them take care of it.

Turn the knob all the way to the right to a different setting.. For example put it towards your feet or your face.. and see if this helps.. Some defrost setting like putting it to the front windshield automatically activate some other settings.. I've noticed.. just give it a shot.

There is a TSB out for the climate controls actually two TSB's. I have a 03 so I don't know if it pertains to newer models. My control knobs became very stiff and had a lot of "slop" in the feel of the knobs as I turned them. So I took it to the dealer and fixed it for free. That lasted about 10months when it became worse. So I took it back (car was now out of warranty) and the service advisor was going to charge for the repair, but then I told him (and he should have known from my records) I had it fixed under warranty via a TSB. Thankfully the Evo mechanic was nice enough to call Mitsubishi HQ to get approval to have it fixed free of charge. He said it was approved because a new TSB for the same issue came out and it superceded the old one. Heres the kicker... It involves removing the entire dash, discharge/recharge of AC as well as coolent! And they would need the car for an entire day. (they gave me a loaner).
I thought Is it really worth it? But here they were going to do it out of warrany and who is to say it might fail in the future and my AC gets recharged and new coolent!! BTW it was a replacment of the entire climate control unit, the old one he said was a slide type and ends up not being strong enough after usage and the replacment was a gear type.
This may not be your problem but I thought I would share.
