Question Electrical problems in the cold weather?

Recently here in the Northeast its been pretty cold. The other night we left our house in my girlfriends bone stock 2005 MR, it was probably 5 degrees outside and the car was ice cold from sitting outside.

As we were driving, I turned the highbeams on, and when I went to turn them off due to on coming traffic, they didnt go off immediately. There was a delay of a few seconds, then they went off and back to the low beams. So I tried it again, and this time when I turned off the highbeams, ALL the lights WENT OFF, including lowbeams and all the dash lights. The car didnt shut off and I didnt notice anything like the battery light or anything, the car drove fine. I had to turn the headlight knob off and back on again to get them to come back on. I tried to duplicate the problem, and this time when I turned the highbeams off, all the lights went off again, but came back on if I tried to switch back to the highbeams. After that I stopped trying to mess with it because it wasnt the safest thing to be doing while driving in the dark.

Anyone seen something like this before?

That doesn't help his problem at all.................... Don't post if you can't answer his question.

As far as a problem, my friend has the same problem with his STi. It was really cold out and his electrics wouldn't mulfunction.... But he never found out what was wrong, cause it seemed just to cure itself. I'm pretty sure if it happened and wasn't fixed, it would happen again, sooner or later . Good luck

Hey n00b, the really funny part is my ITR has almost as much WHP on pump gas as your big mean EVO. Go hate somewhere else.

Anyone else have odd electrical issues in the cold weather?
