10 things you dislike on your Evo?
Let me help you since you think the Suby is so great.
1. Broken 5MT's (WRX only)
2. Cracked VF39 hot sides
3. Faulty IAC's
4. Weak R160 diff (WRX only)
5. Understeer... get used to it.
6. Pimp daddy blue interior stright outta the 70's.
7. Girly pink badges
8. STI = Sexually Transmitted Infection gotta love driving an STD.
9. GBOD
10. Need a big turbo to keep up with stock turbo Evo's.
Should I keep going? Now why dont you head back over to NASIOC.

Dont be a fanboy, all cars have their flaws. Changing spark plugs may be hard to change on a STI (specially left side) but I'm not changing sparks everyday.
I have 22,892 miles on it and I dont hear any "clickity-clackaty" just smooth boxer engine rumbling. Most things people hate about their EVO's they have to deal with them everyday. In my opinion I cant stand cheap paint/interiors on a $30,000+ car but again thats me.

Hey everyone.
Ever wonder about those tiny inconveniences about your Evo. The small couple flaws that Mitsubishi overlooked when designing this almost perfect machine they call the Evolution?
Well, the other night I was thinking about them while waiting for my car to warm up and was wondering what everyone else on here thinks.
Here goes a list of what "I believe" Mitsubishi should've fixed/changed before the car ever hit the showroom floor:
1. Express Windows. The car only comes with one-touch down express for the driver's side window. Why not express up and down on ALL four windows? I mean c'mon Mitubishi. Would it cost you THAT much to include that in? It's a $37K car(MR) for crying outloud.
2. Clock. If the sun is out, so is the time.
3. Onboard display. All it shows is your Odometer & Trip. It would be really useful if they included MPG & Range. Then again, I might not want to know my MPG with the mileage im currently getting.
4. Carbon Fiber. On a car like this, they should've used "real" carbon fiber atleast on the dash, E-brake lever, & shift knob.
5. Climate system. Comparing it to the JDM version, the one they sent over for us Americans seems primitive. From the "Auto" feature to the actual look(nobs) of it, the JDM system looks alot better. Our version looks like they got it from a Second-Gen Eclipse extra parts bin over at the plant. Speaking of Eclipse, anyone see the climate system on the new one? Keep in mind how much MORE the Evolution costs, it just doesn't make sense. Why put an inferior part on the superior sports car? Anyway, moving on.
6. Boost Gauge. (Mitsu gauge kit). It would've been nice if it read PSI instead of Bar. Would just be alot easier for some of use.
7. Sun Visor. I think this is the only car currently in production in the 21st century that doesn't have lights around the sun visor's mirrors. Not a big deal but you know.
8. Paint. As most of you know already, the paint on this car is not something to rave about. It seems very thin. Washing the car & getting certain marks out seems like a mission.
9. Brembo Brakes. The brakes are wonderful and you could'nt ask for anything better, but it's really annoying when you get a rock in your Caliper and it starts making that really loud squeeking noise. There must've been a way to avoid this? Maybe a stone-guard type thing?
10. Audio System. The stock audio system on the car pretty much stinks. Mitusibishi could've made it Sirius/Xm compatible or MP3 CD playable atleast.
Anyway those are ten flaws or inconveniences IMO that the Evolution has. Did they prevent me from getting the car? Hell no
I still think it's one of the greatest cars you can buy under $50K. It's the only one that is capable of putting a smile on your face every time you drive it, no matter how long for.

LOL you're a scooby guy and you don't know about GBOD? Hmm you must be one of those guys that pays to have his car modded.
In your own words- LAME. And before you start saying suby paint is so much better, go inspect the front of your car and behind each wheel on the body. But I will point out a few more Suby things since you are asking for it.
1. Engine out cam swap
2. Loudest engines this side of an air cooled beetle
3. Electric "smog" pump
4. 06+ engine bays are super cramped.
5. Some you have to jack up the drivers side engine to change the spark plugs
6. Depending on yr can have as many as 3 catalytic converters
7. "Inter-warmer" intercooler
8. Plastic door handle surrounds + screw driver = easy access. Takes less than 10 seconds.
9. Suby just as bad at voiding warranties. Remember Suby's "racing club" or 1 yr free SCCA membership fiasco?
10. Girly pink badges.. sorry cherry blossom red.
Damn, why some people cant understand, I think STI/Evo are very balanced cars.
Its a matter of taste. I've seen so many Evo's with flaky paint, rattling interiors and I just dont want that in my car I would hate to wax my car worrying about if the paint will come out like a friend's Evo, that had to paint the whole trunk for leaving the car in direct sunlight for 2 weeks during honeymoon.
I dont need to remove the GBOD for new injectors etc....removing GBOD is not as difficult as some people say as long as you have all the right tools. With a good planning and patiece, you should be able to do this in less than 2.5 hours for first timers.
What a lame list,
1. No plans of changing them soon.
2. No louder than most Evos.
3. So what?
4. Agree.....
5. Not me, and Im not a pro!
6. Thats why when modded the STI gains so much power.
7. So what?
8. Thats why alarms are made and other security devices that put the car in valet mode while you want it.
9. Havent had any problems with warranty customer service.
10. Lame.
Just more lame and stupid reasons. I dont have to deal with those day by day. come on try harder kid. I'll give you a hint..,why dont you start with:
1. STI's are way more safe................

This car makes u become addicted to moding it, equal to the addiction of a herion addict.
But at least in the end u have a *****'n car that hauls ***, instead of being 6 feet deep.

Honestly, how hard is that to understand? Took the little bus to school, didn't ya? The fact that you are on EVOm suggests you bought the wrong car and are looking for a way to justify your purchase.
1. Cheap interior
2. Sport Guage mounting location
3. Rear window brake light--could be in the rear wing
4. UIPC bends and length
5. Removing the front bumber
6. Dashboard material
7. Tiny spare tire--suppose that a weight saving, though
8. Everyone thinks I'm going to race them down the street
9. The hive of dead bugs in my intercooler
10. Police stare too much

The point you are missing it that the STI fanboy website you are looking for is NASIOC... not EVOm.

Just read what other owners said about their cars and most have the same problems. I'm NOT saying the STI is better, like I said its a matter of choice. Dont be a fanboy.
The fact i'm here is because I like how EVOs perform and like to learn from other car enthusiasts it doesnt matter if they are mustang, corvette, Ferrari, or evo owners.
