Setting the "low" reading on Defi Oil Pressure

This is pretty annoying and I don't know if my Defi gauges are setup correctly. Everytime I turn the car off and back on I have to reset the warning signal for my oil pressure gauge.

My oil pressure reads normally (fully warmed up) at 10psi but the low reading on the defi is defaulted to 20psi. How can I change the low warning setting so I don't have to manually adjust it everytime I start the car. I will say that the warning buzzer is annoying as hell!

I have the same gauge and all my gauges stays set after the car has been turned off. Maybe the gauges are not wired properly.

It sounds like you don't have them wired correctly. Look at your power wires. There should be one that is on +12V switched power (ignition), one for +12V illumination, and a third for +12V constant (memory functions).

You've probably got some swapped. As an additional fun note, you'll need to set the low-end warning down to less than 0.5 bar (too lazy to do the math for your US spec gauges) so that it doesn't beep at you as you let the clutch out at idle when taking off from a stop light or stop sign.

If you really want a low pressure warning light/buzzer to work, I'd not recommend setting it lower than 20 PSI. If it beeps, you look and check it. If you set it lower, it's useless.

Setting it too "high" will cause it to alarm when you are idling. 20 PSI sounds about right, though. You might want to watch out when you let out on the clutch while at idle engine speed, though. It was annoying as hell when it would beep at me every time I would take off during daily driving. However, if you have an oil pump fail, it'll give you around 0 PSI of a reading, which is what you should be on the lookout for. Setting it at 20 PSI or 10 PSI as a low-end warning sounds like it will be sufficient.

thanks for the input. The wiring must be incorrect and I will check it.
