Zeitronix Help
Ok so i have a zeitronix wb with egt and boost. the display screen is hooked up and working just fine. but when i hook my computer up i cannot connect. i dont have a serial port on my computer so i went to best buy and got an adapter to change it to usb. i have tried com ports 1-8 and none of them with my 6 usb ports. yes i tried 48 different times. any advice. i have a dell xps laptop
The only serial port adapters I trust are from Socketcom. They are expensive, but they work the best. I recommend the PC Card Serial Adapter. Here's the link:
http://www.socketcom.com/product/con...SL0700-004.asp
It will work, most of those cheap USB dont. Only use Com1-Com4.

Order it from there site. I have never seen one in a retail store. Here's the link to buy: $149!! http://www.socketstore.com/product.asp?sku=1020653

Some USB adapters work better than others. One we stock works well.
Check in the device manager what virtual COM port is your USB adapter assigned to. Some USB adapters install at high COM numbers (above 8).
Also, please make sure you are using the original serial plug and phone like wire supplied with the Zt-2.
Thanks

I tested a Serial to USB converter from Radio Shack ($35.99) and it worked fine.
Go to Start ...Settings...Control Panel ... Select System...Select / click on the Hardware tab...Click on the Device Manager Button...Scroll down to Ports and Click on the +....Look and see what ports you are using (your converter will be one of those)...
