Question Shifting sound?

Any one noticing a pop sort of sound when shifting hard though the gears? When i quick shift and let the clutch up fast, I hear this pop in the rear. I dont think this is a bad sound, and this sound was even in the car i test drove. I was just woundering if possiably this was the AWD system kicking in or something. Again it only does this if driving hard and cltuching fast, and i know if it was a 2 wheel drive car it would squeek the tires. Can anyone help me... just buggin out

The evo does not like to powershift. Try doing a search ... this is common and has been discussed before. Try letting the clutch out a little slower ...

If it's kinda like a clunk that you can feel it's the differential kicking in.

I remember the first time I heard it in my friends VR-4, almost crapped myself, thought I broke his car.

Well you're not gonna drop the differential anytime soon, but it is extra wear and tear on it.

My friend's VR will do it with moderately hard shifting, but then again it's an 11 year old car.

I personally would be more worried about the wear from full out launches than this.

Hard not to worry when it's a brand new $30k car though.
