Chalk it up on the board full of these. Another statistic I guess.

That is what i did with my evo. when i got it, i slowly learned its limits. first on an open dirt patch, then on tarmac. after that i took classes as PIR and drove it on the track. now i know the limits of the car and can control it much better. although now i have to relearn everything because i am about to tune the car in a couple weeks

You never know, there could be mitigating circumstances. He could have had a low or flat tire on his rear outside wheel and not even have realized it. There could have been oil mixed with the water. A shaman could have put a voodoo curse on that exact spot he spun out on...

Point is that we don't know and we'll never know. So lets not crucify the guy. Its a hard enough lesson at this point given the fact he just bought the car and now isn't getting anything from his insurance. He didn't get hurt, realizes it was a mistake.

Its never a bad idea to get some track time in. I find it pointless driving on the streets fast since its a 0 indicator as to talent or skill relative to the track and generally is about 1% as fun as being ***** out/hair on fire at the track.

I only feel bad for motorists that are a part of accidents that are beyond their control (druck driver, hit from the back, etc.)

Flame on me all you want, doesn't bother me.
I never said that I knew exactly how to drive the car well, and I even said I will be taking extra effort to attend driving courses in order to learn how to correct an out of control car.

If you read the original post, my subsequent posts, and looked on Google Earth at the address I gave, you would see that the curves were NOT rapid "S-bends" but merely sweeping turns. You would also have read that I was NOT going fast enough to cause the car to become out of control during "normal" circumstances, but from what I have realized, my circumstances were not normal, and I was wrong.

Never once did I think "I have an Evo so I can rip up the streets". You are flaming on the wrong guy here bud - go find another immature "evo owner" that crashed his Evo to flame on, because I'm not one of them. I pride myself on my clean driving record and my maturity that I believe extends beyond my numerical age.

Do me a favor and stay out of this thread. Up until your post it was pretty chill, with some interesting insight by alot of intelligent guys on here. Leave your attitude at home, E-thug.

Awesome post.

Yeah, who knows what other circumstances could've been a part of the action - I honestly have no idea. I just know that I and others have pushed their cars so much farther than what I did, and that it is likely that some other factor played a part.... but even then, I'm only speculating. Who knows, maybe I was going faster than I originally thought - sometimes its hard to remember details such as that during a "tragdic" event.

+1 for more insightful posts like these. you rawk.

Yes, the results are bad enough... Nobody needs to talk $hit on this guy. I guarentee that everyone who owns an evo has driven on the edge at least once on the street. Not that this guy was pushing the limits... But bad things happen to good people. Worry about the guy who wrecks his evo racing on residential streets or something... Hope everything goes well for you!

E-thug? lol, good one. Whatever dude, i've had my Evo for about 3-4 years now and never wrecked it. The Evo was my first turbo and manual car I might add. I've gone through spirited country roads and had fun with the car. But there was this one time were my car started sliding for no reason in the same spot I always go, maybe it was oil/water just sitting in the middle of the road!?!? All these Evo crash stories are the same, there's always some mysterious way the car gets out of control and starts sliding, but " I swear I drove through the same spot faster and harder last week" Give me a f*cking break.

Well congratulations, luck was on your side and not on mine. You - like most of us here - are not an expert ***ing driver, so get off your high horse about not crashing your Evo after 3-4 years of driving it.

A situation that would not normally cause a crash, caused a crash, and now I suffer for it - I do not suffer out of my own choice to drive it like an idiot.

If "all these Evo crash stories" are the same, then all of you cynical ***holes are the same. Do me a favor and go sh*t on a different thread.
