Haha, one of my friends said the same thing. That's a good idea but then my insurance would go up a lot wouldn't it?

You fail at reading the second sentence of his post...

Well the car has electrical problems once again. I posted a thread about a month ago about my windshield wipers with a mind of their own. Which I got fixed for $300 at a local shop.

Well if you are still covered under warrenty, 32k I believe for electrical, the dealer will fix it.

I just had a reputable local shop fix my wipers. Water/Salt corroded the pins/connecters/wires behind the little black plastic cover by your left foot when in the drivers seat.

I can only think of three things to check.

Battery (bring it to autozone and they can check it out for you, low batteries can cause weird symptoms)
Your ecu (I believe the ecu goes into some secure mode if the immobilizer is set-off)
Your immobilizer

Those are my 3 guesses

Just bought a brand new battery from auto-zome because this problem drained my old one.

Immobilizer will be disconnected tomorrow. I'll update on results. Thanks for your advice!

My guess would be a chaffed wire, bad ground, or a corroded connector. Any of this things could cause odd symptoms like what you`ve got going on. I would ohm out the entire harness and physicly check for any chaffing and ruff looking connectors. Good luck.

Evos are starting to get old in the US One thing I have seen is pocket lint coming off your key from your pocket and getting stuck in the ignition causing weird stuff. But some of the simptoms are out of wack for that! Good luck!

what was the cause of the wiper problem. sounds like a short in the wire harness. I did damage to the wire harness in my company car when the lighter fuse blew and i used a paper clip to hot wire it to use an inverter. had to change the car.

Find connector C129, take it apart and look for water intrusion. Looking at the wiring diagrams, that is your most likely spot for a problem. It takes VERY little water to cause weird issues like this. C129 is described as Front wiring harness and instrument panel wiring harness connector. And yeah, the horn signal to the relay runs through that connector also. The connector is located behind the drivers kick panel. Should have 2 rows of wires with 25 wires total.

A local had the same problem.

BBY I also had the windshield wiper issue and fixed my self by hard soldering the wires to every connector behind that kick panel.

I also found how the water was getting in and fixed that problem as well. They probably hard soldered the wires to just the one white connector behind there that controls the wipers and lights.

Pull the Schematic on the connector previously mentioned and take the connector apart chances are those pins are corroded as well

For all you guys the water gets in though the gromet located on the drivers side inner fender well then runs down the harrness to the connector and corrodes the pins. This normally attacks the wipers and lights but there are about 6 or 7 connectors behind there

Anyone in the NE I will solder all the wires and fix it up for you cheap. No more water getting in my car and no more wild wipers and lights

I have another question. When you open the fuse box in the engine bay is there a fuse on the left side of #15? If your looking at the box I am refering to the last #15 on the right side. There is an empty stop on the left side of #15. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.
