How many cranks to start it? What temperature is it when it takes awhile to crank?

I have the AEM on my IX and it takes usually 3-6cranks to get going with temps around 40-60*F. Near freezing takes a few tries (12-16cranks). When you try to restart it after a few days is it because your battery is drained? I read that the AEM EMS would not shut off on a few cars and drained the battery.

Just so you know I wouldn't crank more than 10sec at a time so you don't damage the starter. Sounds like a possible tweak in your coolant temp start parameters. Give the tuner a call, if you have a laptop you can log it and they usually wouldn't mind sending a revised *cal file.

Sounds like AEM has driveability issues

Not true at all. You just have to make sure you have someone that knows the AEM EMS inside and out set it up for you.

I had David Buschur set mine up and it is flawless. I can't speak for other shops but I have zero issues even when we have crazy temperature swings here in Ohio.

well, when i got it out the shop from the beginning it took like 5 cranks to start it. but turbotrix said its normal and the aem takes time to adjust and then it will stop. now, my car wont start at all. i even tried to jump it and fail for the fuel pump to cut off. its kind of odd that i try to call turbo trix about my problem and they dont even answer my call. they stopped when i paid them.

some of your parameters in the engine start menu are off. I can send you my map so you can compare them.

Mine starts up fine in just about every weather condition.
