alittle off topic but the same genre....

since we all primarily measure whp, i would love to see the gain if any of a wheel and tire swap. im sure there would be gains but what they would be would be very interesting.

I'm guessing that the Torqline CTG carbon fiber driveshaft sold by AMS will give you about 32whp. It's 40 pounds lighter than stock.

Yeah I would not recommend this to anyone. With ring & pinion gears are already a weak point in the evo driveline. (transfercase anyone?)

we have pretty much got everything you can do
work your way in from the outside starting with tire
rim
rotor MAYBE caliper not sure if aftermarket kits are lighter but i doubt it
then suspension
i know my jics were way lighter then the stock set up
and my ohlins are now even lighter than my jics
i also got a hollow hotchkiss sway bar and power agency lower control arms which are 1lb savings
not sure if things like that are unsprung weight but im sure theyll help

The ring gear was just an example of what you could potentially do in some form of elimination of rotating mass....I wasn't suggesting to do it to the Evo, but there may be other items to consider. Just throwing out an idea used in alot of racing applications. That set up works wonders for us

Carbon Fiber Rotors....

check out www.edgeracing.com. They have a lot of weights on their site of specific sizes, models, and brands. There is a trade-off with rigidity, but depends on what you're looking for.
