Name That Decel Noise! (PLEASE)
Sounds like the TC, like the beginings of the death whine. Twins normally make more of a rattling than a whining. If the whining gets to the point that it is loud then you need to call shep and get a new tc.
My twin disk makes a nice rattle, on top of that I have the old decel noise. I Installed the twindisk at the same time I replaced my Tc. All three are distinct noises.
Decel noise is a tough to describe rattle, Twin disk is a more obvious rattle. TC on it's way out is a siren like whine or howel when on light to no throttle.
Drain your tc and look for shavings.

My car has also never been launched, ever!
The decel noise is normal for a twin. I had the exedy twin in my 03 8 and had the same decel noise. I have an ACT MB7 HDSS w/ prolight flywheel and it makes absolutly no noise at all.
Yes, I think it is the clutch. The customer of mine had a 5spd. I have heard those exedys make noise on both 5 and 6spd cars, its not a function of number of gears.
If you are going to spend the money, I would suggest doing it on a Tilton Twin ceramatallic.

It's the clutch!!
I know from personal experience that both Exedy & Tilton twin disc clutch kits make noise on decel.
Nothing you can do about it, but jus live with it or change the clutch.
