I guess you never learned that water dissipates heat much faster than air??? Which is why air-water intercoolers are better for drag racing and other short stuff like that..
Oh man. Shoulda thought this one through before you replied. An IC sprayer to resolve some heatsoak issues is one of the quickest and most effecient ways lower your IC temps.

Water on the intercooler doesn't do jack ****. I've personally done testing with intercooler sprayers, they don't add any power, and they don't get rid of heat soak. They are worthless, and thats why starting in 05 they are no longer included with the Evo. If you actually believe that spraying water or alky on the intercooler does anything you are kidding yourself.

The intercooler spray was omitted in '05 to allow room for components of the ACD.
Spraying your intercooler does "work," but will depend on what you spray (as well as what you define as "work"). Spraying water is least effective as it relies on the dew point, temperature, and more movement of air over the fins. Spraying a compressed gas such as nitrous oxide or carbon dioxide will have greater, but short lived effects.
It's basic physics. Intercoolers use air passing over fins to cool the intake air. Evaporation of water on an object creates lower temperatures of said object. In your case, the difference in temperature might have been negligible, but the laws of physics still apply.
i drive an 03 and ive put Alky into the i/c spray and felt no gains, but why would mitsu put it on the evo if it had no effect????im sure they did it for a reason,ur not gonna feel an instant boost like a push from a NAWS button on the steering wheel, put the intake temps will lower

does it help of course it does. but it probably wont help enough for you to notice anything. the cooler the intake temps the more power you will make. its like you car will make more power when its 50 degrees compared to 100 degrees.
