I see Tail of the dragon this, that...... but??
any of you fruits and nuts out in the So. Cal. area ever get up to Lockwood Valley Road??
Out on the East coast, I hear and see Dragon this, Dragon that....... out on the West coast, I don't see too many people mentioning roads to have fun on!!
Once upon a time when I lived out there, at least once a month a bunch of my friends would get together on a Sunday morning and head up there. I lived in Huntington Beach and I would make the trek up to our meeting place, Ojai.... it is well worth it.
The road offers serious elevation changes, tight twisties and to top it off, you can even find your rev limiter in top gear (if you are so inclined).
basically, a whole mix of road to make your heart skip a few beats.

all I know is that the 330 going up to bear is damn fun. Throw some snow into the equation in the winter and its even gnarlier.
I feel sorry for some of the east coasters having to drive so far to get to a decent mtn road when there are so many around here.

The drive on PCH up to San Fran from LA is a great drive. So is the drive to Bear mountain from LA. Made both of them several times when I lived out in LA. I live in NC now and I have to say that NOTHING in LA compares to the Dragon. It's gotta be the best driving road in the US. I've driven it 3 times already and it is truly an amazing drive and gets better each time you drive it since you can go faster after you learn the road. If you can, try all three of those roads and you'll be in driving nirvana.
I ride my 600rr on highway 2 about once a month.
