I went factory and never had issues. they even supply you with instructions. Use ipa or some other type of wax degreaser prior to install and it will never fly off.

My rexspeed never had a problem. I betyou mounted the tap wrong. I mounted the tap almost to the very edges of the VG and I also put vertical strips on the outer edges and inner right by the antenna. Mine is secure, very secure.

I picked mine up after it flew off. No adhesion left on the tape. Also, I have an MR, so it was a factory install.

Well, just need to be sure the surface is thoroughly clean with alcohol and buy extra 3m tapes for a more secure installation.

i used the 3m tape that rex speed provided and taped everywhere like this

i also cleaned the surface of thr roof really well. it so easy to install theres no real way anyone can install it wrong.
i put the vortex generator on at night went to work on the freeway in the moring and at 80mph it flew off. i never got a chance to enjoy it. i had to pad $69 shiped for a plan black one and another $80 to paint it cuz rex speed does not sell blue by you color ones.
so i really want to buy another one i'm just scard the same thing will happen.

By lord please do NOT wax prior to adhering any tape onto the surface. It is not goign to help in the slightest. What you can do it clay the section, wipe it down with some water/alcohol solution.

Did you hop on the freeway right after you installed it? I would've made sure to give it some time to adhere.

yup, after i put mine on, i left the car in a sunny spot for an hour, put some weight on it too to kinda make sure it stays, then parked it in the garage. so far 6 hours have gone by and havent driven it, i'll drive it at night and see if it helps.

but this is how i did mine too

Do not wax your car before you put that on since the tape will not stick any better because of it. Just clean the surface with alcohol so it removes the wax currently there and any small stuck debris. Then apply the VG after. I've done this to anything I've used 3M on and it sticks like the mother f*cker.
