Thats HELLA tape. I bought a used OEM Mitsu grey VG. It barely had tape on it left and it was used tape too! Slapped it on almost a year ago and nothing has happened ever since .

Riceball, did u install it under the weather channels properly?

First off you should have let it set for at least 24 hours before driving. Second, when you thought the surface was clean, clean it again.

Chalk that VG up to an expensive lesson learned.

WTF?!!! 170? I get worried when I'm doing 140 and the rpm gets to the red. I bow to you!

so I just came back from a test drive with the VG, took it to 120 a few times, pulled over and checked, so far so good. It's stuck in there good

I know this may seem really basic to you guy but I have my VG to install, how do you remove the weather channels so the clips dont break? Do you remove the weather channels from the back of the car coming forward?

Thanks

open the trunk, then pull the weather channel slowly, very slowly. there are two clips, one is white and the the other is grey. pulling the white loosens the channels and the ghey one gets you to actually pull the channel out.

make sure your gentel with them cuz they will break, what i did was use a flathead wrapped in a towel to leaver the channel and get the grey clips off.

putting it back is the same way, dont rush it! the white clips will move so check on those when you start putting it back together.

its easy but take your time, took me about 30 mins

i put mine on over 2 years ago, hasnt come off a single time!

Not to mention its aftermarket, and stuck under the weather stripping on the roof

I am surprised some of them are flying off, i dont even get it vibrating or feel air getting under it

I have an aftermarket unit on my car and it's been solid so far. I guess it's all in the taping. I'll definitely have to keep my eyes on it now.
