bcuz im pretty sure the evo stock ECU has a govenor/rev limiter at 158 in 5th
It depends on your tuner. I had Dynoflash (Al) remove my rev limit up to 7800 and remove my top speed limiter also. I would ask AMS if the changed yours

Always wondered if my vortex gen could fly off... I can picture it in my head with the antenna ripping off and all. :/

But yeah, before you try to affix anything adhesive to your paint, always clean all of the contact areas with rubbing alcohol to make sure all of the wax is removed. You want the "sticky" to stick to your clearcoat, not wax (which deteriorates over time).

also, there is a round clip that was supplied by rexspeed with my VG.. it basically secured the center after i screwed the antenna back on.. so even if my tape didnt hold, i couldnt see it flying off....did you put that ring on?

LOL

talk about overkill

my used oem VG had old and used 3m tape on it. Only had like 2-3 short strips too. Took it 120mph a few times. No issues ^_^

My factory piece has been securely sitting there since I got the car (about 6k miles). At least a couple of those miles are above 150mph.. not on any populated road of course.
