Arrow Broken bolt on hotside

While taking some things off, one of the bolts that connects the hotside to the turbo manifold snapped in half. Any ideas on how to get the broken part out of the hotside? I tried drilling it out, but had no luck.

Wow...you do run into a lot of problems with your car. You're going to have to drill into it with a specialized bit that when turned in the counterclockwise direction will remove what is now a threaded stud.

Go to Sears, they should have what you need there.

It's a bolt extractor. On these bolts it's a real pain because they are hardened, so drilling will be a *****. You have to get the good drill bits, the cheap ones will dull quickly. If that don't work, drill it all out and get a heli-coil. It's a spring like piece that you put in the hole and the bolt threads into it. Any car parts store will have these. good luck.

One of my friend tried to weld a nut on the top of the bolt. Out of 3 bolts he was able to remove one. maybe you can give a try...

Otherwise, the bolt extractor might be your best friend.

Same thing happened to me a while back. I drilled for days and eventually had to take the turbo off and use an angle grinder to make a small slice into the side of the hole, and cut the bolt out. Leaves a small gap in the bolt hole, but works perfect still....going on 6 months like that with stock hotside/turbo and no leaks.

I would invest in a bolt extractor kit from sears. It costs around $30 but it will save your *** a few times. I've already used my bolt extractor kit several times.

It should. All you do is drill a hole about .5cm and then put on the bolt extractor. Basically it drills into the bolt while extracting it. If that doesn't work your just gonna have to drill it out completely.

This **** just happen to me today. The bolt just snap in half while trying to unscrew it. What a nightmare! I hope I'm able to get it out because it's on the hotside.

BTW. Anyone know an ARP brand replacement? The 2 stock bolts that connects the Exhaust manifold to the hotside tends to weaken overtime.
