I was thinking....for the smaller time guys....

A class for us...the little guy, the evo street class. I thought because I live in Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania has middle of the road laws concerning vehicle modification, that it would be a good place to start our Evo Street class.

Here are my thoughts:

-This would be an evom bragging rights type of thing
-Only legal vehicles.
-gotta have cats (high flow cats are acceptable)
-No race gas
-No nitrous
-No alky/water
-No slicks or drag radials
-Have to have full interior-all 4 seats, all of the console, everything. (removing spare and jack would be ok)
-upgraded turbos are ok (the big nasty 35r and above are dogs on pump so dont worry about that)
-No dog boxes or sequentials (probably wouldnt have a dog box on a stockish car anyway, but you never know)
-here's a big one.....no AEM or other Speed density standalones, no mafT, etc....only piggy backs and reflashes
-MAF in stock location

I think most evo's would fit into this category, but when you look at big dog guys with 2500lb cars running 155+mph traps, you dont feel so fast.

I personally don't fit this class, but my car is soon to be stock, and then....who knows but I dont think I'll go bigger anytime soon.

Let me hear some opinions, we can call it Evo Street.

Put a cat on and be legit and you're in. The cat requirement is important.

How is it important? Hardly any cars run cat's, AFAIK only the Cali guys are really crazy about having to run cats, it frees up 15-20whp for 100 bucks, people want that power per dollar.

I agree with Scorke. There are many places that don't require one or do any emissions tests. You will eliminate a lot of people by mandating a cat.

I just think it makes a true street car.....real street cars run cats, pure and simple. I dont care if I'm the only one claiming the evo street title, these are reasonable rules.

If your the only one claiming, or competing then whats the good of claiming anything? I can be the fastest car with X,Y, and Z pounds of boost on a tuesday, but if nobody else is trying to adhere to the same conditions then theres no point of making a rule set.

The rules should be as minimal as possible and as straight forward as possible, aimed to appeal and allow the bulk of modified cars in it IMHO, the more cars the merrier.

Rules
-pump gas(no power adders)
-no more than 100lbs out of the car(ac must be retained)
-daily driven(that means driven every day)
-DOT 140+ Treadwear tires
-stock maf/ecu

Because I dont think I'll be the only one doing it. Scorke why do you care, keep your test pipe that's fine, but it wont pass a true inspection that way, FEDERAL law says you have to have a cat.
